I don't know if it's just me or what , but I just don't see these two lasting for the long haul. I know they've  together dating for a while now, but I just don't feel it with them. I don't see that bond like I saw with Andi and Josh. It just seems to me that Nikki is the one trying harder to make it work, but JP,not as much. IDK  just weird to me, something is missing with them. IMO

Relationship is never easy.  I think JPG by agreeing to go through therapy to solve their issues, you can see how serious he's for this to work (for the better) He really wants this to last a lifetime. IMO, "bonding with someone" is something you build over time.

I see more honesty and reality from JPG and Nikki.  I feel like Andi and Josh are living in a bubble at the moment.  Andi has yet to get back to real life.  I will feel more confident in them when Andi announces what she plans to do with her future.  Doesn't matter what she chooses, but living at home waiting for Josh everyday, unless that is what she is going to do and get married and have the babies right away isn't living with the stress of everyday life.  I think that is when you know you can make it when you live how you will permanently.

I think JPG and Nikki are close to that.  They are both working their real jobs.

They are dealing with a culture difference, JPG is very Latin.  Nikki seems to understand this with her head, but her heart needs reassurance.  I have a feeling that JPG will learn about that through this process, and how he can adjust to her needs without losing his culture.

These two just took a very romantic extended trip to Bali.  I don't know why they would bother if they had broken up.

I like both couples.  And I agree that their trip to Bali suggests that the relationship is continuing to move along.  At the point they were last night, however, not sure I would agree that there's more reality with Juan and Nikki (as compared to Andi and Josh).  Both JP and Nikki are very honest people (which I like very much about them); at times to the point of bluntness.  But, as was revealed last night, there (again at that point in their relationship) appears to have been more taboo than the I love you.  For instance, it was clear to me that Nikki was mighty uncomfortable when Evil Dick brought up the fantasy suites and JP having sex with all three. (By the way, for those of you who have not yet been able to watch it, JP neither confirmed nor denied Evil's allegation.)  I am pretty sure I heard Nikki mumble that it was something she had never asked.  It will be interesting to see how much of that is discussed as the therapy continues.  I hope that the Couples Therapy producers kept their promise to JP (referenced by JP in a tweet last night) and edited JP and Nikki in an accurate light.

ITA!!  I really believe that Nikki and JP do love each other and want to continue to make a life together. With them living apart, the cultural differences, his daughter AND all of the horrible, negative press, comments, etc. they have received since before the show ended - I REALLY think that they wouldn't still be together if they weren't in it for the long haul!! Love these two and hope they are together for a long, long time!!!

I haven't had an opportunity to watch last night's episode, but I still think something "big" is coming at the end of the show. Whether it's a proposal, a promise, or a move, I think these two are in it for the long-haul. Just a hunch.

Here’s my take on Juan Pablo and Nikki.  I believe Juan Pablo when he said in the Live Access interview that had they not gone to CT they would have broken up.

I don’t think him saying I love you is the real issue with them.  It’s more than that.  I think Juan Pablo is guarded.  I remember reading that aside from Carla he had one other serious girlfriend and she broke up with him. So I think he’s been hurt badly before and has trouble really giving his heart to another woman who's not his daughter. Until he’s willing to open up he can't emotionally give her what she needs in the relationship or say I love you to Nikki.  Not because he doesn’t feel it but because saying I love you and letting her into his heart makes him vulnerable and open to getting hurt again. I mean look at how much he cries in the different previews.  We’re dealing with a sensitive man here!

As for Nikki I think she needs to communicate her feelings better with him. For example, he said she’s like another daughter last night.  That bothered her but I wonder if she ever told him it bothered her.  I can’t believe he would say it on national TV if he knew it bothered her so much. I remember on the Bachelor she said she had a hard time expressing her feelings.  So it’s something she knows she has to work on especially with Juan Pablo since things can get lost in translation with him.

Anyway all this to say that I think based on last night and the previews that Dr. Jenn gets them to work on these real issues.  Once they do I think he will easily say I love you to her which will give her the reassurance that he is committed which she needs in order for her to move with him. And then they can live happily ever after! :cutesmile!:

I do think JP had trust issues.  You can see in previews that the go into a house of horrors (I think) and JP is swinging axe or sledge hammer at table saying I want to trust again.  The look on zniiki's face....she looked scared.

Good post SereneityGirl! And I couldn't agree with you more with the bolded. I do also believe he's been hurt badly before and maybe more than one time. Cicely and Treach are very hard to watch.  Otherwise, I didn't mind the show.

Nikki and JPG do need to learn to communicate.  My hubby is an on time kind of person and I am a bit of a procrastinator.  We have learned to adjust, but at first it was really hard.  JPG could learn to express that better than calling her his second daughter, but I do understand why he is frustrated, it drove my hubby crazy for a long time.

Does anyone know if Nikki still lives at home with her parents?

I think this will help them, but they both have things to learn and grow with.

So right, I think it is going to be very good for America to see the real Juan Pablo. He is so misunderstood, and I can't wait!!!

I just watched it. Some thoughts:

It looks like they – or at least JP - came on the show thinking that they had some practical issues that could be solved just by getting good advice. The main purpose may well have been to show who they really are without the villain edit.
At the end of their first session they start to realize that it is going to be way harder than that. Obviously they will be able to deal with the deeper issues, and in the end I am sure they will also win over a lot of people. Probably not until the last episode though.

The daughter joke is a small but obvious example of miscommunication. He thinks it is an innocent joke, and does not sense that she is embarrassed. She on the other hand could just say “hey, not cool!”, but for some reason she doesn’t. I’m sure we will find out why later.

By the way, I don’t think Nikki lives with her parents. It seemed like she shared a place with Eric until he left for collage. The room in her latest IG picture with the dog, especially the windows, looks nothing like the parent’s house we saw on her hometown date.

Interesting how the guys were talking about their extensive travelling and JP said that when you get the phone call, you have to just pick up your gear and go. I guess that’s life for a consultant, but it may be an issue once Nikki moves to Miami.

It was funny when JP told EvelDick’s girl how he lit up when she came into the house. JP’s bluntness was quite helpful that time, to break the ice. And now he can tweet: “I made EvelDick blush on national TV. First time ever.”
