Am I the only one that's not too fond of the idea of having new people showing up every week? I know it's a show and there needs to be drama, but there would be a much greater chance of having successful relationships if they have everyone there from the beginning. People that arrive towards the end have pretty much no chance at forming a relationship since most of the people are coupled off already and feel the need to stay loyal.

I think Clare had Zack on her list since when he arrived she ran to beach and told him I was waiting for you.  We know Cody had Clare on his list.  Graham said in interview TPTB told him there would be someone he would be interested in (don't know if he chose AshLee but she certainly had him on her list.)Sarah had Brooks on her list and Brooks had Sarah on his. Christy had Zack on her list and only asked Jessie out when Sarah told her he was taken. Wonder who Michelle had on her list we know it wasn't Kalon, hahahaha.......

Yeah, Jesse just did an interview in which he said the producers did ask him who he wanted to meet beforehand (and he had said no on in particular). And, Graham had actually said that he wanted to meet AshLee beforehand because he had heard great things about her from his friend.

I feel like Michelle might have said Marquel before getting to actually know him.

I like the idea of new people showing up, but they really need to tweak the concept. People like Brooks (who came in late) really don't have many options, because everyone is "taken". He might have been interested in Sarah and Michelle, and they might have had a great relationship, but he almost couldn't ask them out. I feel like that's why Jackie has gotten SO many dates - because she's the only who's not tied down. And, obviously a lot of people who were "taken" wanted to go on dates with newcomers, but just didn't want to deal with the drama.

I think that next season, they should possibly:
1) Not be allowed to tell the newcomer who is/is not in a relationship so they are allowed to ask anyone
2) You have to go on the date if someone asks. You can end it early if you are being disrespected or anything, but you have to at least give the person a chance. Kind of like how the Bachelor/ette lead is made to go on many dates with many people, although he/she only like 2-3 out of the whole bunch.

Some friend. laugh out loud

I like the idea of no one allowed to put their claim on anyone. They should be able to ask anyone to go on a date, and that person has to comply. Then I would imagine the drama would increase by 200%.

I've been trying to figure it out, too. I don't like the new arrivals, but at the same time I'm not sure how you do rose ceremonies and create any suspense if you don't have some version of it.

I, too, have been wondering if it might work better with some rules that FORCE more mixing up, and basically prohibiting commitment until the last few shows.

Maybe some half and half sort of thing, with new arrivals for the first half of the season, and then coupling up and culling down. Details TBA.

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

Agree they need to mix it up.

I haven't really been following the discussion but I watched Monday's show last night and was extremely bored! I don't find any of the cast all that interesting nor do I find their relationships that intriging. I mean out of all of them Lacy and Marcus appear to have the best shot they seem very nice and normal together but that makes for extremely boring TV.

I really prefer Bachelor Pad, I liked the scheming and undermining, plus I felt like people didn't try and pretend that the relationships meant more than they really did (i.e. hook-ups) because for the most part thats what they appear to be. Some "relationships" aren't even relationships, just people hanging out (i.e. Graham and AshLee), very bizarre and IMO extremely boring to watch.

Jacoby and Juliet from Grantland's "Right Reasons" podcast had a great idea. Once a "couple" has gotten two or three roses from the other person in the couple, they are sent on their merry way as they are no longer willing to mingle with others to form relationships. I think this could work as more people would be brought in but once you are in an established couple you are sent off into the sunset.

ITA with you. Just like Brooks said, he should being allowed to go with Sarah, then if she didn't feel it, she can go back to Robert. So, you should totally email Fess with your 2 ideas, they really make sense.

Umngirl, that's what my sister keep saying every week. But, I think they need to stay in that environment a little longer to seal the deal. I tweeted Feiss that there should have 3 or 4 women and men come in weekly after week 4 or 5 instead of just 1 at the time. IMO, it is a good 1st season, they just need to tweak it a little.

Piper61 wrote:[quote="nutty1"]Best part of the whole show this entire season?? BROOKS!! Love me some Brooks. None of these girls are adventurous or intelligent enough for him. He has a very witty sense of humor, that we didn't see as much of during Des's season. I think things would have been different had he arrived weeks earlier. I wonder what would have happened if he asked Sarah to go on the date and she accepted?

Jackie is very dull to me also.
Jesse isn't even worth the energy is takes me to type his name out!
Tasos is sweet and not a match for Christy!
Lacy isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but they are very sweet together.

Cannot wait for all the breakdowns next week!!
Ditto, Nutty!!  I have missed Brooks!  If only he had come on the show much, much sooner!  If only he could be the next bachelor.  Sigh.

I really liked brooks with Jackie, he actually was doing the pursue instead of being pursued. This was the most entertaining date of this season. I also liked his interactions with Sarah, playful, great chemistry. I wonder what would have happened if they went on a date? I wish he came in early. I also said to myself, he should be the next bachelor.

I think that the only problem with that is that it eliminates any possible drama, because no one can "steal" anyone. Like, I think that Brooks/Sarah seemed to have a lot of chemistry (in the 5 min that we saw). I would have loved to see them go on a date and Brooks/Robert battle it out for Sarah. However, if we did it the way the podcast recommends, Robert/Sarah had already reached that "two/three" rose point and would have been forced to leave already. Plus, it would be impossible for any couple to have a real shot in the real world, because two/three rose ceremonies is the equivalent of about 10 days. That's definitely not enough time to determine whether you really want to date the person IRL.

I think the idea could work if there was a limitless number of interesting ex-contestants, but there just aren't. I was bored by half the cast members THIS season, and these were the most "famous" of the bunch (with a few exceptions, but those people would probably never do the show).
