I don't see it that way at all.... Both seem to be very caring and kind-hearted. Soft spoken, responsible and mature.....

She doesn't see it as a "business". She is sees it as her contribution to society. She doesn't want to make money out of it. She truly enjoys helping. Helping and caring for others is what she has seen since she was little. These facilities are all small, but they are spread from OC to SDC. Maybe its seldom that people her age take joy in elderly care or are motivated enough to make a difference, but she does. She is a truly great girl.

from her site:
I grew up in large family with nine of my family members being mentally handicap. Growing up in a  special family, I knew I wanted to follow my parents footsteps and care for others. At the age of 20, I purchased my first elderly care facility to provide quality care in a place that my patients could call home. 5 years later, I now own multiple elderly care facilities in Southern California and thought I would expand my knowledge on real estate. It's so rewarding to wake up everyday  knowing that I'm able to love and care for others as my family does. I love my family and patients! I've posted my real estate license with Realty Executives Dillon. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I didn't mean to offend you with my questions/skepticism, you seem to take this very personally; do you know Lacy or are you related to her?

And yes, I do believe that it takes a certain type of job to be able to get off for 3 weeks without having to constantly be in touch with your office, as many executives/entrepreneurs would attest to. Most of the contestants who appear on this show must have those kind of jobs; I know I sure didn't, and I never worked for an entrepreneur who stayed out of touch with his/her business for 3 weeks either. Good for Lacy if she was able to manage it.  hmmm

I am not trying to get offended, but I can't help but feel by the tone of your posts that you seemed to have judged her whole personality on all but 15mins of Reality TV. Skepticism is understandable when it comes to this show, but it would be nice to keep an open mind. That's all.  (You know, maybe there is more to her than one brainfart comment and those big boobs. yes )
btw, again "business". She is NOT a business entrepreneur. She is not selling goods. She runs/owns/works in small, assisted living facilities for the elderly. She has employees/co-workers/(in some cases even co-owners). She took 3 weeks of (paid) vacation. She left the facilities in good (and competent) hands. They are still up and running.

I do think the kind of assisted living Lacy runs is a little different from your typical entrepreneur.  My MIL is in something similar and as long as the staff is solid, the owner can and does take long vacations.

Personally, I think the hard work comes upfront:  getting a decent house at a decent price, to start with.  Then getting necessary modifications made.  And, finally, hiring the right people.

After that the job is making sure the residents are happy and comfortable, the staff is doing their jobs, marketing so that your vacancies are filled quickly (there tends to be a lot of turn over in these places), and filling in on whatever needs to be done (like making sure the stock of depends is good, and buying more at 11pm when necessary).

It isn't rocket science, but it is very hands on.  Still, "hands on" is not the same as "no vacations."  When she is there, she probably works long hours.  When she is not, she probably has someone else filling in the gap.

So maybe Lacy isn't brilliant (not that her one line proves anything either way, and it will be fun to quote for the next eternity), but she probably is hard working, motivated, a people person, and not afraid of a little risk.  That is what I read into the information.

(and I did not like Lacy in the first episode either)

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

Yeah, wasn't impressed with Lacy last night from what I saw of her. I'm free to say that, right? Now next week, I may totally change my opinion of her based on what I see and become her biggest fan, in which case I'll comment accordingly. Isn't that what we all do for the most part, since we don't know these people? Smiley

I actually find it so impressive that a 25 year old could have achieved so much (and also was not so crazy busy/mired in responsibility that she could just take off for a few weeks to be on this sleazy show  :giggle: ), that I am very skeptical about how accurate that info really is.

If it's her family's business that she is participating in, it explains a lot though.

It's her family's business. It's incorporated. It's been incorporated for 10 yrs. So this has been up and running way before her involvement.
The only 2 I could find have a census of 6 each, if at full capacity. I could not find anything indicating another 3 assisted livings.

I am on on the go so I don't have access to my saved info, but from the top of my head: Silver Linings, Hope, Dillon, aaaand I forgot the name of the other one. (I think, something with "Anton....." ) . It was the first nursing home she worked in. Silver Lining is the one she started on her own. Hope was started by her family, but is owned AND run by her now. Dilion (out of Lancester) is owned by her parents, but she is the CEO.

While were on this topic, Chloep if Marcus and Lacy are engaged, have you heard anything about living arrangements? Or anything in general? It seems its difficult because of her running the facilities and his managing/owning of his business as well.

I have admired Lacy since her brief appearance on JPG's season. Good elderly care is an issue near and dear to my heart. I also think she is very beautiful.

I think her desire to not leave quickly again may have given an impression that isn't who she really is.

I hope we see her apologize to Robert and then she her being able to be her true self as she grows more confident with Marcus.

I agree about Lacy! I posted similar thoughts on BIP General Discussion thread.

I am super late to the viewing party so wanted to add my snarky thoughts about episode 1 ...

Elise ... Woah Nelly! Thank you for my first laugh watching her wobble down those stairs. She's a bit cuckoo. Is she still a teacher? Yikes.

Ashlee ... And Double Yikes! I was not a fan during Sean's season as I was TeamCat+LindsayDesLeslie and I am still not a fan. That girl needs her own soap opera. I sure hope Graham isn't going to waste too much effort trying to figure out that ticking time bomb.

Clare ... Surprise surprise ... I was not a fan on JP's season but this goofy gal is growing on me. She's so darn tootin happy so I hope she sticks around. The scene with the raccoon was laugh out loud funny.

Sarah ... my ears hurt listening to her. So pretty yet so much whine.

Marquel, Marquel ... yummy as always. Boy this man has a beautiful smile.
Dylan ... nice haircut! I hope he puts his eggs into another basket quick cause based on previews ... not looking good with Elise.

Mean daddy from Des season ... still not interesting

Spinning sign guy from Des season ... definitely more interesting

Finally ... GRAHAM/MICHELLE M. ... why are you on this cuckoo show? I hope the money was worth it!

Can't wait to see next week and what's up with crazy Michelle. Is that a producer she's hugging and Chris H eavesdropping? #Hilarious #trainwreck

If I was Daniella McBride, I'd be doing high fives all around for leaving early and STD free.
