If no one picks up the wedding then they can just hire a videographer and sell the video of the wedding to their fans. I would certainly buy one.

I'm not sure if they can sell to another network or even sell video on their own. Maybe someone from here knows more about this.

So just to confirm, is the converse not true as well? It's my understanding that the fan threads are meant to be a safe haven where fans can discuss their favourite couples/contestants in peace, and that non-fans aren't supposed to be essentially "eavesdropping" on those conversations and then bringing them over to the General Discussion thread. We've been asked to stop discussing certain topics in the fan thread, which is fine, but those topics have somehow been appearing in the General thread, initiated by non-fans who have obviously been reading in the fan thread. I don't take issue with a fan or a mod bringing over a topic from the fan thread to the General thread, but should non-fans really be doing that? Just wondering if we could get that situation clarified. Thanks!GuardianAngel wrote:As previously posted several times, the Fan Threads were created for Fans to post only positive information on favourite couples or contestants. They were created to avoid chaos between General Discussion posts and Fan Favourite posts at the suggestion of the members after BFF was created. The idea was to have a place where Fans can discuss and enjoy their favourites without the posts that may offend some. Due to the conflict of opinions, in the past several months, we are once again stating the the Rules. This is a Fan Thread for Andi and Josh. Any posts that are not positive in any manner, or discussions that involve other couples or contestants in a negative manner, will be deleted without explanation. The use of JMHO JMO IMO should always be used to prevent posts from appearing to be fact. Discussing conversation or opinions of what’s going on in the General Thread is not allowed.

The show has the exclusive rights to photograph and air a wedding if it should take place withing two years after the final episode of the season in which they appeared just as if the wedding was part of their season. If they do not get married within that two year period but do get married after it, the show has the first right and last refusal to negotiate the acquisition of rights. If an agreement can't be reached during that negotiation then the couple is free to negotiate with others but the show still has the right of last refusal under any financial terms negotiated with anyone else.
There's nothing that explicitly states that the show can determine when / where / and how a wedding would take place, but since the rights to photograph and air it are already in place there's probably not a lot of flexibility the couple really has within that two year period without denying the show the rights that have already been granted. For example - if a couple decided they wanted to elope and get married in Las Vegas six months after their finale aired there doesn't seem to be anything preventing the show from saying "No you can't do that then because we can't film it at that time and you can't deny us the rights you've already granted us".

Let me help clear some of this up, once more.Eagle Eye wrote:So just to confirm, is the converse not true as well? Initially, this forum was founded for sleuthing and discussion.
The fan threads were introduced to the forum later, as a solution for fan issues. They are a haven for fans to discuss the couple in positives only. Anyone is welcome to read these threads. Anyone. Anyone is welcome to post in these threads as long as it meets the site rules.
The discussion threads, as long as they stay within site rules, can be of any discussion pertaining to that thread topic.
So to specifically, answer your question--if a lightbulb goes off in Jane Doe's head about a discussion topic birthed from reading a fan thread and she chooses to address this topic in the discussion thread, yes, it is allowed.
I hope this helps and I'm sure if I have fallen short, GA and the other mods will add their 2 cents.
And thank you, Lucas for clearly adding your post.
I was pretty sure of most of what you said being spot on, yet no longer had all the facts straight and you laid it out nicely.

Clarification, that sentence is meant to avoid comments in the Fan threads such as, "I'm not going to the GD threads anymore, they are too negative there" "Don't go to the GD thread you won't be happy to read what's going on there" "Posts in the GD are so rude an it's annoying to read" " I don't get why those posters in the GD always say rude things"etc. Those types of comments are not Fan related to the topic.
We are not trying to make this difficult, we are just trying to enforce the rules that are already in place to avoid unnecessary confrontation. :

Re: Andi Dorfman & Josh Murray - Fan Forum - General Discussion Thread #2
For example, if I see a tweet from Andi on our main page twitter portal, which I want to comment on, I bring it to the GD thread and comment. That same tweet may have been posted in the Fan Thread, but that doesn't mean I got it from there.
Same goes with rag mag links or any other info on SM. I may grab a link and post it in the GD thread and comment on what I think of it, which may be totally against Fan thread rules, but it doesn't mean I got it from the Fan thread.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to post them in About our Site so we can keep this topic on track. We would be glad to clarify any questions!
