Sue ... glad to read you, it's good to see others' perspective, you opened another "window" for me, thank you.

Through the whole story there are diverse doubts running around Nick, while for Josh the only doubt that Andi expresses is whether their relationship in the real world could work and stand the test of time (since previous ones didn't), while him being completely sure of their relationship having a great future ... with Nick she has many more unknowns and variables that make this plot thicken:
1) He's skeptic, so will he open up and give himself to the process?
2) What he even wants from the girl, the Bette, why is he here if he doesn't believe?
3) Are these two compatible and could there be enough initial spark to progress?
4) Is there a physical attraction after seemingly instant mental connection?
5) Is he a good team player and could Andi accept him with his flaws? Is he genuine and real? (this is recurring theme through the whole season)
6) The question remains to be explored and explained ... so their 1on1 right off the bat, without date card, is really her wanting to sort things out before going anywhere "further" with her feelings for him ... it was really a breaking point (either she would accept - which she did or she wouldn't trust him and thus let him go) ...
but on the guys' persistence (TPTB all behind) and continuing criticism of Nick's behavior (from episode 4 on), the audience starts to make a drastic shift and voices their dislike for Nick... not only he is taken off the chart of the competitors, he falls into the category of guys who lost any chance of being F1 or the next Bach, the thesis supported by all the media, fan sites and SM clues.
7) As audience, we arrive to the boiling point, voiced as frustration of the guys in the house: Is he playing her, is he there for the right reasons, what is his strategy? (they - TPTB - are insinuating he is all for the game, naming him Tricky Nicky, providing him with an outlet that to those already against Nick would result again as insincere)
8) We are presented with the big issue: heartbreak ... insinuating, alluding and warning Nick and us viewers (through the voice of his family).
9) One more time the insinuation whether he's being honest with Andi (Sharleen wrote much better explanation how it's done) and whether he is ready for commitment? Also again hinting at the possibility of a big heartbreak for Nick.
10)  The preview is creating doubt whether the guy would propose at all.
Also Andi's fear that maybe it can all blow (her faith in someone, her gut feeling belief that she has been following all season long) in her face.

   Agreed. SM isn't great for our boy Nick but he is still my fav.

Well, there is still about a week to go for Nick fans to enjoy what we perceive to be a beautiful love story regardless of SM clues etc and regardless of what the outcome may be. Nick has been the reason for me to continue to watch this season unlike JPG season where I had to stop watching after the 1st episode since there was nobody like Nick that peaked my interest to continue.  I believe a lot of us have prepared ourselves for the possible dreaded outcome but still have a lot of hope that things will turn out well for Nick based on what we see on the show and post show.  There is no point focusing on the doom and gloom of it all because that takes away from enjoying Nick and his journey to find great love.  Yes, at the end of all of this Andi will dump somebody and if by some chance it is Nick, then I will enjoy seeing him on my T.V screen until that last minute.

Thanks unknown. I have read the sm and post show info - and there is a lot of info - both pro and con. But to your point, if I let myself get sidetracked with the cons then I disturb my ability to be fully involved in the story. For me it's important to remember that whatever happened has already happened. I'd rather be in the moment and enjoy what I see is a great LS - and if I get Fleissed at the end, so be it... but I don't think that TPTB are spending all this effort to show me Nick's story and vulnerability; get me involved, etc... only to have Nick left heartbroken at the end.

I guess for me, I look at both connections, since I started out wanting Andi to be with Josh. I am in SC/GA and on paper, wow, could they be anymore perfect. It was through watching Andi respond so positively to Nick and being such a pain with Josh, that I became open to Nick for Andi. I actually thought there was no way Andi would move to the midwest, but Chicago, maybe I can see that.

Social media is such a tricky thing to me. We know Elan loves to mess with people on SM and since Emily's season TPTB has seemed to embrace SM.

I guess, since I have tried to view this season without being a huge fan of either couple I feel I can see clearly. I love this thread and Nick, but I also love Josh, there is a lot about him to admire and like. I just see a better Andi around Nick than Josh.

I truly will be okay on July 28th either way. I believe Nick is happy, if it is with Andi, great I trust his judgement. If it is not with Andi, I really believe that his journey of this silly show is going to help him find his love, much like Chris L. And I won't be sad for Josh either way either. Again if he is with Andi, I will trust his judgement. If not, I think Josh will end up being an incredible bachelor.

True. like Brooks and Des tweeting at the same time, mum at the same time:); All 4 senior vet whom i know got 'reliable' inside scooping throughout the season, and 24 hrs before finale reconfirmed that 'THEY are still engaged and happy'.  :cutesmile!: 

actually i still miss one of them --a sweetheart, helpful, friendly lady--whom we havent heard since the end of Des's season, Aug 13--thanks to the 'damage' due to the false info

i respect those who wanna take that 'road'. As for me, i chose to take the more difficult 'road' , believing my own eyes, heart , mind and my silly detective skill . If i have to mention only a single reason on why i would love for RS to get his sweetest kaboom evah it would be: bc he has made my 'job' to root for the Spoiled F2 and The LS extremely difficult 2 years in a row!!  :P
