so trueSueSt wrote:Why would TPTB flesh out Nick's story to such a detailed degree if he was F2... They’ve laid out Nick's challenge too - to overcome the fears and skepticism brought on by past heartaches and to move into the future with Andi. Why would TPTB spend so much energy getting me to invest in Nick if they were just going to drop me flat!!!??. I mean sometimes I feel like I'm watching Nick's search for love instead of Andi's...
By comparison, Josh's story, to me at least, is much less granular, less detailed. He’s all in, has no hesitations is 100% confident about his pending engagement. So where is the hook? What is his obstacle… ??because every great love story has one, right???

happygolucky wrote:Oh, I'm not talking about the spoilers either ... it's the negative opinions that I read about Nick that get me hard ... I just wish people would give him a chance and not look every move he does from the critical point of view (I hope I'm not pushing the boundaries of forum rules again by saying this). I'm not saying that Nick is perfect - far from that, I could state numerous of "negative" traits of his character and list the situations where he could have handled the situation better, but it bugs me ... now even more, after re-watching the Marseille episode, how people (guys, some viewers) describe him with adjectives that I wouldn't give the same meaning to. (yes, I'm one of those very peculiar vocabulary advocate) I go by the rule of argumentation and fact proving, before jumping to conclusions and calling someone names, for something he hasn't done. Because I don't mind the truth, even when it's harsh and negative, hard to hear, but till it's the truth, I can't argue and deny it ... it's the inventions and gossip that bug me big time. Because it's hard to "win" those battles ... it's just better let them go...
See, I didn't want to get all negative and serious with this speech ... it's the late hour for me, nothing else new to talk about. So I'm analyzing human behavior. Not saying that someone is right or wrong, just that I really wish we all would live less complicated lives ... with less misunderstandings. Sometimes it's hard to see things clearly, especially now that I'm tired.
We share the same world view, I don't like this behavior at all. I am always discouraged when I see people making things up to support their hating on someone.
But, you can't live a positive life hanging around negative people, right? Even online! So stay here and stay off those other boards. We will keep sleuthing, and more than anything ENJOY this season, it is one of the best ever - such a beautiful love story with some really great characters! We value your insights here.

Gorgeous! He stands like a taken man. The whole hand in the pocket thing again rather than a full embrace.
I hear Alanis Morissette in my head when I see these photos of Nick,
"What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be fine fine fine
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five"
Thanks for bringing the pic here!

yeah Sue, that's the whole point/reason for me believing in Nick being F1.
TPTB always shows the love story as a journey of building a relationship ... even when they try to hide it or obscure it, they don't hide the steps that each of the partners have to overcome (that's the whole beauty) (Like in Des' season, they showed very clearly the beautiful story between Des and Chris, they just obscured the chemistry, physical part, making people believe he falls into a friend zone)
With Nick&Andi - there is all, and with each week there is a new step forward (With Josh she was stagnant some weeks - and I don't blame Josh for that):
1ep - him stepping up, owning his place, those "5min" of her time, making good first impression despite being shy and awkward, Andi making a first ballsy move (one of many) and owning her position of the Bette, where she decides with no shame or regret.
2ep - How to make a move, when she is having her fun with all the other guys? FIR moment is over, now it's up to him to take a lead ... so he gets things "popping" with his invented date-card. Takes charge, shows interest in getting to know her first - is considerate, attentive, intuitive, smart and that mental connection is ignited.
3ep - their first date... she guides him, but then she becomes shy and insecure, intrigued by him, trying to read him and solve the mystery, while he is becoming more confident, because he actually starts to feel there could be a potential. Worth sticking around. While she is already sold ... the questions then through the season are ... Does it last? ... or someone else surpasses him as a frontrunner? How strong is their connection vs. some other chemistry? Does he believe? ... She needs to prove and reassure him ... while he "plays a role of the one hard to get" ... and by the end of the week, at the CP/RC, with the roses he finally lets her know, he's in. Game begins.
4ep - and he wins ... well, his team - and whether you believe in destiny of not ... that week was a huge break for him, great opportunity to get one step closer and ahead of everyone else (no wonder the next ep. everyone dislikes him). WE can see more than just mental connection, there's chemistry/physical attraction too. He is expressive, sincere, genuine, athletic, competent, strong. He courts Andi. Doesn't lead her, but lets her come closer to him... and he would so get a rose, but it was obvious that some other guy needed to get a chance/break.
Sorry, can't type anymore, falling asleep. Goodnight sweethearts.

Most excellent, now get some sleep and finish this when you wake up - you can't leave us hanging. I'd forgotten some of this. Patiently waiting eight hours to read your next post . . .
Good Grief, are there only four of us that think that Nick is going to win? Oh well, we will have fun until the end with this. I'm going to try to insert my first emoticon - wish me luck.
