The reports from the different tabs definitely contradict each other, so obviously some, if not all, are inaccurate.  And why do they always sound like speculation that has already been brought up and discussed on this board?  Can't they come up with some original ideas  and stop stealing our material?   

I agree that Nick really didn't witness very much of Andi's interactions with Josh, and I think it was by design.  If we believe, as the BG article states, that it was a two horse race from pretty early on, then it doesn't surprise me that the producers would orchestrate it to keep those two guys out of each other's dates as much as possible.  I believe they were only on one GD together, right?  And I agree that since Josh probably didn't "share" much about his feelings for Andi with Nick, then Nick could convince himself that there was never much substance to Josh's relationship with her.  In this case, it's no wonder he would be gobsmacked to not be chosen at the end.

Great post! ITA!  I always thought it was interesting too that if Andi was really taken with Nick from the start (first impression rose) that she would not have wanted him on a date the first week. Was she not interested in seeing him strip down like the rest of them? If I was into a guy, I would have wanted to "check out the goods" as she said. Instead, he was sitting back at the mansion with Patrick and Andrew. Atleast Chris and Eric had 1:1's. That is telling to me.

I thought someone once said that a lot of the first dates were those TPTB had in mind for the next lead. If true, it's not surprising that they may have wanted Eric. Maybe someone remembers that list of past leads that had the first 1 on 1.

Des and Arie both had very early 1:1 dates, week two or three. I always thought that Arie was the first choice for the bachelor, but his heart break over Emily made it impossible to cast him. Emily was week three and I think they hoped she would be the next bachelorette, not F1.

Jillian had the first 1 on 1.  Jake had it as well.  Other seasons, the first 1 on 1 went to people the producers probably thought might be candidates for the lead but it didn't work out, like Ryan Bowers and Kacie B.  And of course, Eric this season. I think the producers definitely suggest the first 1 on 1, and usually, the lead goes along with it.

Not to speak unkindly of the departed, but this is MHO...

TPTB may have wanted Eric as TB, but I don't think he would have been a good choice. He told Andi that he only spent 3 days per month in the US, and his traveling project was going to last quite some time. How could he ever have sustained a new relationship with anyone? Doesn't mean that TPTB wouldn't want him, but really???

I think when the filming of Emily's season started they wanted Arie as the next bachelor if he wasn't the F1, much like Emily. Sean was great and totally overtook Arie, but in the beginning I think it was Arie's to lose. I know in the end they did pick Sean and rather quickly after the season ended.

Or she takes a look at the ring that Nick picked out and says, "Hey, it's nice but I've still got to take a look at Josh's ring.  Let me get back to you on this."

Notice we got no scs of Neil Lane and picking out the ring this season. TPTB screwed us with scs this season. I predict next season we will get re-runs of the Family Guy instead of scs or those horrible Suave commercials.

Those Suave commercials are the worst!  I swear their hair looks better before than after!  And the "acting" is so unbearable.  Shoot me now if they do them again next season. OTOH, it they wanted to advertise Dove soap during BIP by having Marcus take a shower each week, Im in!!!    

Especially with clear shower curtains.

When filming earlier on I'll agree with that. Towards the end and after filming there was really only choice and like you said, they made that decision rather quickly.
