1. He's 29 and had not been in a committed relationship before.
2. According to reports he did not know Andi prior to the show.
3. He comes "out of the gate" (limo) gushing and all in to a girl who he may have only have seen on a tv show the season before.
I know a lot of contestants come in and are smitten at first sight.
But I think these folks have been in real life relationships before and understand what is involved to sustain one, even if it eventually failed. Each of the other F6 guys had the experience of the day to day of a real life gf or in Chris/Nick's case fiancé.
I am not being snarky, but I truly don't know if Josh is in love, or in love with the concept of it all. I know this is true of most of the final couples and they find out post show. Some of the tweets Josh has sent lead me to wonder if "reality" is setting in. When it does, he doesn't have the experience to compare what is a momentary bump in the road and what is a red flag. I don't wish any one unhappiness, but I don't see them lasting.

You just have to wait and see, but as far as I am concerned, they are the real thing and will last.

However we do know he had two relationships prior to five years ago because he talked about it on his date. The college friend who made the comment that he didn't know of any relationships was probably telling the truth because it was prior to Josh going to college. I just get the feeling that Josh is not the type to talk about his relationships to just anyone but he did have at least two.pavalygurl wrote:Here is what I don't understand:

I can't imagine Andi making that comment if she chose Josh, knowing that her future in-laws would see her saying they had a less mature attitude than their daughter.

She didn't say the others were immature or had an immature perspective.
IMO I don't think they would be too upset about it.

You may be right. I am still on the fence about who she ends up with, and am going back through things trying to see clues I may have missed. Tptb have done a good job on me this season.

In a PI during Josh's date, Andi said, "It's funny, the youngest person in that house, Stephanie, had the most mature perspective on it all. And she said...she brutally honest said, 'you're probably gonna fight about it.'"

I have to say it struck me the same way. However, I think Andi made every effort to mitigate any potential damage in her blog for that episode by talking about how the entire family was so interested in Josh and wanted what was best for him.

Totally disagree. IMO, this is nothing like Brad and chantel because of how Andi is with Josh compared to how she is with Nick. PLus soooo many clues on SM that we did not have with Brad. The list is too long, but it is here somewhere. ;)
I believe they are showing us the love story.

Where are people getting that he was never in a committed relationship? He's spoken of 2 and said he was cheated on in one and said ILY's in the other. I would think that if he felt cheated on there was a commitment there. Same with the ILY relationship. Do you say that to somebody you are casually dating?
IMO, Josh wasn't going to miss one of the most pivotal times in Aaron's life to go on a dating show unless he thought there was a very good chance that he and Andi could make a connection. I'm sure he did his research and was probably pleasantly surprised at how much they have in common. All that was left to do was meet her and see If there was any chemistry between them. He appreciated her appearance when he got out of the limo but I didn't think it was over the top.
I think their relationship progressed as realistically as can happen on this show. He wasn't saying ILY after the first date. He wasn't afraid to confront her or have a disagreement with her. He seemed to look at this as their relationship not just her choice. I know it's twisted by one of my favorite scenes is Andi's melt down during the GD. It showed how vulnerable and invested she was with Josh. IMO that was when reality set in for both of them. 4 days later she's singing a different tune about the lie detector fight, she's marking him as hers with a yellow ribbon, he's finally saying he's falling in love with her and they're both comforted by one another.
I think they have a better chance at a successful relationship than most that come out of this show. They seem to be madly in love, have a good line of communication and aren't afraid for things to get messy. The only red flag I see is that neither of them want to be the disciplinarian to their children. I hope it's rectified or they're going to have some beautiful but bratty children.

This one made me LOL for real. Good one! And I agree with all of your points. Given the nature and culture of the show, I think Josh and Andi both acted with judiciousness until their feelings reigned supreme and for Andi in particular I think that is a very promising thing as I have to wonder if her over-analytical self got in the way in her previous relationships. So for her being able to lean into her feelings allowed the wall to come down and for her to experience love 'deep down."
