OK, I don't normally click on wetpaint.. since I know it's a sensationalist mag.. but I broke down.....  

I like that Andi is defending Nick and see it as a piece in the puzzle of TPTB trying to refocus Nick's edit.      

Andi Dorfman Says There’s a Side to Nick Viall That Audiences Haven’t Seen

As viewers, we’re all savvy enough to the reality TV world by now that we get that everything we see isn’t totally, well, reality. Each season, shows like The Bachelorette need characters for viewers to root for and against — it just makes it more fun to watch! Editors know this and can sometimes get a little creative giving audiences what we want. Case in point: Nick Viall.

He’s been the guy we’ve loved to hate on during Andi Dorfman’s quest for love, taking cues from his rifts with the guys in the house which got him labeled as a salty, overly strategic guy. But the world of The Bachelorette — a world where you date a girl who’s dating 24 other guys — isn’t exactly real life. And, according to Andi in her People blog, Nick’s real self is totes different than his onscreen persona.

Speaking about Hometown Dates, Andi writes “what you didn't get to see was that Nick had a table in the back with all of his friends waiting for us to sit and hang out. Nick got so emotional when he was reunited with his friends, and it was really sweet to see that side of Nick. It was refreshing to see Nick in his element with his friends because I knew he had been having such a hard time being around all of the guys in the house.” See, Nick isn’t such a bad guy, he has friendsies!

Even the guys in the house who have been willing to bad mouth Nick on-camera all season long appear to be friends with Nick now that cameras have stopped rolling. And Brian Osborne recently came out and said the two are pals.

So, even if you don’t see what Andi sees in Nick (which we kinda don’t, BTW) at least you know it’s because we’re not seeing the whole picture and not because she’s got blinders on.

Gosh you have to LOVE Nick! Without the plane video, his overconfidence, the producer with him in Milwaukee, what are we going to talk about now? 
Btw, everyone is different, so I think Nick is just so cute and adorable! He could be sweet but also salty at times, just like peanut butter! Crunch peanut butter!

Maybe the rumors about Chris' father not wanting him to do TB during Harvest are true, and maybe he is backing out.  Maybe they would have asked Marcus (duh, of course they would have   ) but now he is psoken for.  Maybe Marquel is not interested.  Maybe they have run out of retreads.  And you know how they hate to pick somebody original...how long since they've gone with a fresh face?  Maybe now the Clean Up Nick's Edit campaign is in full swing.  I didn't think it was possible a day ago, but now my mind is being changed.  TPTB can weave this edit however it suits them, and if they want Nick redeemed, he can be redeemed enough to get him into the job of TB.  Every year a population of viewers say they don't really like or feel a lead, but they still tune in.  I've watched leads that I have not liked.  

This would be so funny/aggrevating to me if true - that in a season where they have such a great group of guys and so many potential Bachelor choices they might be now scrambling to "re-edit" they guy they thought wasn't a candidate because all the others got away. Although I really like Nick, my personal preference if there were no other factors would be,

1. Marcus
2. Marquel
3. Chris
4. Nick

even though I know #1 is impossible now ... ( side note I'll be really ticked if Marcus and Lacy just have a "showmance" and not something lasting and real because in that case he could have been Bachelor). At least there's something that is grabbing my interest with all the great speculation in this thread because the expected ending has made me lose interest.

If they are trying to clean up his image/change his edit so that he can be the next bachelor, why didn't they show that?

Either meeting with the guys to party (definitely not F1 then), on the hot seat at the MTA, or meeting Andi. Time will tell.

I hope there is some scoop about the taping on Sunday, as my plane leaves Monday at 6 AM and I will be dying to know.

If Nick was F1 and there for a SH visit, would the producers allow him to be seen in public?  

Just for the record regarding Jason, he did make the comment on their most recent podcast that Nick wasn't handsome enough to be the next Bachelor when he and Molly were discussing who they thought it would be. He didn't say it to insult Nick, was just giving his perspective, however ironic it was. And yes, he has defended Nick in the past as a victim of bad editing, when Molly was bashing him (although I believe she did say Nick was more likable in this last episode).
