Ugh! I do not want to get my hopes up about Nick being the next lead. I am already so over wanting him to be F1. He deserves better than a life of interrogation from MeAndi. I just don't see why they would leave some of those things about him playing a game and talking about the next bachelor if they were considering him. Not that I believe that was Nicks intentions but the general audience won't believe that.

Im still asking the question, Chris Harrison, the mouthpiece for the show and storyline, has been defending Nick all season long, it puzzles me, why have they thrown Nick so badly under the bus while sticking up for him on the blog? Did they have him as a top candidate for TB along with Chris?

Compare to how badly he made fun of Brooks in nearly every blog last season.  His blogs really pissed me off with Des.  He even made fun of the walk/jog/run thing when it was Des who came up with it!

Therefore, I don't listen to CH, but maybe this season I should listen to just the tone, pro or anti someone.  He is the devil who will say what ever the evil MF in his ear tells him to.

CH is told who to bring down and who to stick up for. There is always a reason why. Brooks left Des and he wasn't going to be the next lead so is was CHs job to make fun of Brooks. What he writes on his blog about each guy give us hints as to what the outcome would be and who the next lead could be. If Nick is not F1 or the next lead, I don't see why CH has been told to stick up for him.

I think The bachelor spot isn't cut for Nick. Despite "cleaning up" the mess that they created with the edit (&spoilers), Nick is very much disliked on online community, social media still shreds him to pieces wherever you go, he isn't considered gorgeous/sexy by majority of women, there are people who find him uninteresting, even boring, because of his constant talking (you know, Nick's MO, when he cannot shut up, because he has to explain and analyze everything), ... so I doubt the producers would choose him, when it is already pretty clear he would not be accepted good. Beside it would clash with his statements through this season.

Yes, seems like a lot of SM and media and message boards don't like Nick and even after HTD, a lot of people on the boards I go to, still don't care for him. Still not ruling out the bachelor option but prefer Nick not to subject himself to it.

Maybe the rumors about Chris' father not wanting him to do TB during Harvest are true, and maybe he is backing out. Maybe they would have asked Marcus (duh, of course they would have   ) but now he is psoken for. Maybe Marquel is not interested. Maybe they have run out of retreads. And you know how they hate to pick somebody original...how long since they've gone with a fresh face? Maybe now the Clean Up Nick's Edit campaign is in full swing. I didn't think it was possible a day ago, but now my mind is being changed. TPTB can weave this edit however it suits them, and if they want Nick redeemed, he can be redeemed enough to get him into the job of TB. Every year a population of viewers say they don't really like or feel a lead, but they still tune in. I've watched leads that I have not liked.

Then there are Chris, Brian, Dylan (who else?) who said that Nick wasn't there for right reasons and that they don't want to be in his company because of his "shady" nature ... well, if he would go for the lead ... would be like giving them right ... and we already know they were wrong, assuming the worst of Nick, but most of the fans, viewers don't know that (not following their SM), so for them he is still the horrible, arrogant, d*** that all guys agreed and said that Nick was. For a good lead there needs to be some sort of excitement, not a pity story after the heartbreak, but a story of a triumph ... that said, yes, it is still possible that they can create that story, but only after this season End. But to me, the story of the triumph is in someone else's hands to throw ON AIR.

Talk about pot and kettle, but no less an authority than Jason Mesnick said Nick isn't hot/good looking enough to be the next Bachelor.  And I like Jason, but, c'mon.  

Regarding why CH would stick up for Nick, I think it's as simple as the complete overreaction in SM to the negative edit the producers created for him; I doubt they expected the level of public vitriol that they unleashed on him. It really got nasty out there, and CH is doing damage control now.

Not only is it NOT true, but it's rude.... and definitely yes on the kettle black ironcat; I mean Jason was sweet, but not really handsome. Nick is much more handsome and dapper to my eyes!!!

Wait, from the last podcast of Jason and Molly that I listened to, Jason was actually defending Nick quite a bit. I don't think Jason and Molly were ever that harsh about him either. Just from Josh's first 1-on-1 date Molly and Jason have said that she was going to pick Josh and have reiterated that in each podcast that Andi is different with him in comparison to the other guys and that their life aspects lined up. Especially in the latest podcast, Jason thought Nick seemed like a good guy that had genuine feelings for Andi, but that the edit production purposely gave him would make it difficult for him to be the bachelor and that Chris would be the guy production went after.

The only time I've ever heard Jason or Molly talk about their looks was when they mentioned how if you put Josh and Nick side by side, they're two completely different guys. They have been really quite tame to all of the guys actually and recently, Jason has been defending Nick.

Nick's dad retweeted my tweet about the FD preview, that I labeled "holy hotness". Doesn't seem like something a Dad would retweet, especially if his son was F2. Unless he was going to be the next Bachelor!

Clarification.  Bennett was hired years ago (2009 or thereabouts) as a story producer.  He is now like a number of others, a co-executive producer.  Check IMDB.

He's exactly like Alycia Rossiter (whom we saw hugging Andi last episode), even above Elan, Peter, Cassie et al.

There are two problems with Chris as a Bachelor: 1) the arrest history (I don't think it is a big deal but tabloid BS); 2) are they going to find at least a handful of good choices who want to move to Arlington, Iowa?

So maybe they are exploring other possibilities for Bachelor.  I don't know what else it could be.  People say "foiler" like in Des's season, but there was no video of Chris.  I don't think it is possible Nick is F1 and they are trying to "foil" us.  Only other possibility to me would be something to show at MTA so they can discuss Nick and his "arrogancy" without having him there. Like a package with Nick's reaction to the things the guys said about him and that way it could be discussed at MTA.

I agree with this as being a possibility too.  I can't buy into the foiler theory and I think it is too early to be shooting bachelor footage so your theory makes sense to me.

True. If they are going to redeem their edit of Nick, it will be at the MTA. I do think the guys will have to change their assessment of Nick's sincerity after having actually watched the show. It has happened before, that a disliked contestant got a different review from the competition after the others had seen the footage.
