I A Max. Regarding the first bold, I can't think of any other contestant that has had that type of edit, that wasn't the F1. I thought Josh from the moment he stepped out of the limo, was being promoted for the next Bach. I have not seen anything that gives me any indication they are promoting Chris, although we keep waiting for it.

Regarding the second bold, I mentioned that in another thread the other day. That is very copy cat of other ette's in the past.

Do we know if filming was halted on the day of Eric's funeral?
Also, I'm wondering if any of the guys chose to attend and if that would have changed the order of the guys' dates.

So if I'm understanding this...  Nick is an uncaring and selfish person because he is focused on developing his relationship with MeAndi?  He is selfish because he put MeAndi first over bromances in the house - as CH instructed the guys to do?  When TPTB asked him to "sneak" over to MeAndi's room - with camera crew in tow - should he have insisted on taking the other guys along to show how considerate he is?   He does all of these things knowing he will incur the wrath of his fellow contestants, but he isn't giving MeAndi the attention she needs?  

I'd be a little more concerned about a 30 year old contestant that hasn't managed to have a relationship with a young lady in over five years.  My humble opinion of course.

Living close to Athens with a daughter who attended UGA at the same time that the Murray boys did, Trust me when I say Josh could have managed to have a relationship with almost any woman he wanted. Josh is a hell of a catch. All evidence points to him being a good guy. He's good looking, confident, has some money, he's smart, has a great support group in his family. He's not slick or arrogant. Josh made a conscious choice not to date just for the sake of dating. IMHO that makes him all the more appealing as a mate.

The only hint in the EDIT of the show is this:

During JJ’s date, Andi says twice “til death do us part”. The second time she says this, we get Ron packing his luggage and leaving.

Chris says of Ron “We are all really concerned for him and hoping everything’s OK.”

Ron says, before he leaves for his deceased friend, “I just wanted to say my goodbye” to… a surprised Eric.

When Ron hugs Chris, Dylan voice-overs: “There was a death of one of his friends.” (a.k.a. Ron’s friend and Chris’ friend in the future).

Later… also interrupting the scenes on JJ’s date, Dylan (again) discusses the deaths in his family with Chris. The line of “It was just the call I never wanted to hear” is spotlighted over Chris listening, followed by his description of his brother lingering for a while “brain dead”.

Andi says later: (after mentioning Ron leaving) "Whether it is 25 guys or 1 guy here, like, I genuinely care...”
(camera then zooms on Chris) “about each and every one of y’all"

Conclusion: We have no idea if anybody attends Eric's funeral, BUT we have ONE contestant EDITED as the most likely one who would.

... or at least, Chris is the one MOST impacted by Eric's death. Josh and Marcus are rarely seen "around" Eric in the first four episodes. Nick may be upset by Eric's passing too, but the editors made a point of his flower delivery interrupting his sitdown with her in episode #3 and Eric calling Nick out as "competitive", so those two were clearly not as emotionally close. On the other hand, Eric was the one disagreeing with Chris putting himself down as a "Cinderella" before his date and Eric has clocked in a couple of screencaps sitting next to Chris in group sessions.

In addition... after Craig ruined the group date, she said "Last night was disastrous, but today Chris put me back on track" and after her argument with Josh in Venice, she says "Chris is always that dash of hope when it’s a bad day and times it is rough, it is weird how Chris is always there to swoop in."

What I wonder is if Chris himself has some sort of meltdown after Eric's death and Andi has to "swoop in" just as HE often does for her.

I think that what bothers me in all of this is all obvious Andie is being in all of this - like she wants people to know Josh is her F1. I don't know whether to think if she is just so happy that she can't keep it to herself and figures since everyone knows it why hide it or if she is participating in a foiler to hide her true F1 which would certainly buy them time to have their safe house visits similar to how Chris and Des used the Brooks foiler to their advantage last season. Of course, maybe the general public does not focus on the SM activity like we do here either..

Moving this over from the screencap thread, just because Great Questions need Better Answers that each of us can add input to... either in agreement or disagreement.

Also, Josh fans... start your engines!!! Vrooooom! You can all dive in, since all that I will present here is editing "stuff" that can be interpreted any number of ways.

While it is quite possible that Chris leaves during his fantasy date, we did have these curios in The Edit, as if any of them matter at all... and maybe they don't. I never know what the editors are up to.

When Cody's baggage is picked up in Venice, Josh says "This is the first 1 on 1 date when somebody’s left” over…  himself. It is as if something that happens to Cody happens to him too at some point.

After the basketball game, Josh says “I hate losing and the fact that ‘we’ lost and I won’t be able to see Andi just makes it worse”. (Edit cut to Chris. Edit cut back to Josh as somebody sighs) “I’m not a sore loser but…”

Right after she screams at Eric in episode #4: "You have no clue how f***ing difficult it is to look in someone’s face and send them home!", Josh says (clueless about the conversation obviously) "she shouldn't be crying right now".

When discussing Brian in the abc.com episode #5 scene, JJ says over Josh (focused on by the cameraman) that Brian is all about the "basketball element" and that if she no longer feels the connection, "I think she will send him home".

Rudie’s speech on night #1 after being eliminated: “This is a curve ball. It is not what I expected, because when I came in here... I was aiming for the fences. Y'know I thought I was gonna hit that ball right out of the park. Everyone in my life was, like, Oh my gosh! Like, you guys are gonna get married and have kids!”

Brian says right before the lie detector test that Josh was so angry about: "The date card says ‘I’m looking for true love’. So it was hard to figure out what we will be doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a curve ball."

This weird speech in Venice:
Andi: There’s a part of me, like, that saw potential heartbreak.
Josh: That’s not gonna happen at all. Not with ME.

Of course, some of these lines obviously don't apply to THAT rose ceremony at THAT time... LOL!

Is Josh F1? Maybe. I guess it depends on what is "smokescreen" to fool us or not. If it is, it isn't working very well since any casual visit to abc.com message board reveals... as well as visits to "non-spoiled" conversations... that many are pretty confident Josh is F1 regardless of all you have read above.

I don't think edits are pulled out of a box, or recycled, or set in stone each season; they are formulated depending on what the lead and contestants give them and what actually transpires, which doesn't always follow a pattern or resemble a prior season.  Regarding the "comforter" always being F1, I recall Jason was Deanna's, and he wasn't her choice (actually would have gone out at F4 if not for Graham).  If Marcus is getting a very clean edit, isn't it possible that he just didn't give them much to work with, didn't get into anything with the other guys, and had no conflict with Andi because their relationship never developed into more than her obvious physical attraction to him?  And regarding how he could be F4 over the almost invisible Chris, what about Ashley's season, when Constantine (who?) got dragged all the way to F3 over the more obvious match, Ames?

Especially the bolded, there is no such thing as a F1 etc edit, it all depends on what the producers/editors have to work with, best example: Courtney!!!!

Juisn't because something is possible doesn't mean it happened that way.

IMO, Andi is pissed off at Nick and it probably has a lot to do with Nick talking smack about Josh and spoiling the ending.

I think that obvious is in the eye of the beholder. For instance, Andi posted a picture of Nick's date in Venice. The average viewer would look at it and not give it much thought. I would look at the picture and think, Why did she post the pic of her in the gondola solo? Same for the pic she tweeted of her and Josh. Most viewers would look at it and think Nice Picture. I look at it and think, Now we know why she really loved Belgium.

I'm gonna make kind of an assumption regarding your statement about not understanding Marcus being F1 JBF...you might view this as sexist but it's not meant to be....your not female are you? I think if you were female Marcus as F1 might be easier to see. Now before I get everybody starting a "ruckus"    I know there are are many here that probably agree with JBF and don't see Marcus as F1 a possibility....I think in general it would be harder for men to see...JMO.
