It seems obvious that CH is escorting Clare out, for whatever reason.

But that has never happened before so it does leave some questions as to how this went down, not to mention that she doesn't look like she's had a hissy fit as some had predicted.

Leave it to this show to hype something so minor as CH walking her out, as "something never seen before." You could be right.

I think this was tossed in to confuse the viewers because the beautiful surrounding looks more like she is going to the FRC than away.  Nothing more than that.

These are two different gates and not opposite sides of the same gate as we thought:

Agreed. If you look at the map of the Plantation provided by Mr Write, there appears to be only one gate. Once you are outside that gate, and on the raked beach, as they are, there is nowhere to go but onto a boat.  

They look diff to me too.  The tops arent the same shape one looks sq. & the looks to have some kind of slightly angled top.  Too if you look closely on the one gate u can see it looks to be long black triangle type cast  iron latches and the other gate u can't see them. The enterances seem to have  different landscaping too. JMO
