A lot can be said about “stats" and patterns from previous seasons but there is a different variable present this season...an uncooperative lead. He has stated all along that he gives the roses as reassurance and what better way to reassure the one you "like" the most than to give her the 1st available rose at each ceremony?
It may be true that f2 usually gets the 1st rose at the FD rose ceremony but that screams producer manipulation to me. How else can you explain the likelihood of EVERY lead, for however many seasons, giving their favourite the 2nd rose? Personally, I think that's done to give the F2 false security in their "connection" going into the finale. I can hear it now...See? He/she must really like/love you because they gave you the first rose and, this late in the game, that's the most important.
As has been evident by the bus stalling out on top of JPab, I think he refused to play their games and did what he wanted and, IMO, that was give Nikki roses to reassure her.

I agree with your post especially the bolded. JP is a non-conformist with the production script so the previous editing patterns may no longer apply. Post season, basing on JP's blogs and the posting of the deleted video of their Miami date 4x, it points to Nikki as F1.

Exactly. He said "more scenes like this one." So, on a show about "love", he wanted more scenes about Venezuela? It was a definite shout out to Venezuela and to Nikki.

I see it as a shout out to his country and to Nikki. IMO just because he's only referenced it in regards to his country doesn't mean that's it. He wouldn't directly make a shout out to Nikki and the show hasn't finished airing yet. I'm not sure if someone asked this already, but are there other videos out there he could have posted about his country? Just curious.

He has other videos supporting Venezuela, there was one posted in another thread aside from the deleted video.

Yes. He made other videos.  The deleted video is not even in Spanish so basically some are viewing without sound. Wonder what is the take away for those folks.

I have an observation, Didn't we see Clare with a Venezuelan flag colored bracelet and definitely it as JP giving it to her.

To be fair then JP should have posted a vid of him giving her that bracelet as promo for the sad plight of his home country but he didn't. So there is a good chance that him posting that vid was just not for the sake of what symbols he showed (as deleted scenes haha) on the show - but that he is in good books with the girl that he gave it to.
Which is not Clare.
