Sean and Catherine Lowe - General Discussion

I just want to express my gratitude to everyone for your love and caring. Thank you for your prayers and your love. I am very lucky to be part of this wonderful group of people. My family and I truly appreciate your prayers. Thank you.

Blessed, I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. Sisters are best friends, so you know for sure she will be watching over you up in heaven.

Thank you, you are right, she was truly my best friend and will be missed so much.

I'm probably opening a giant can of worms with this topic, but I'll blame my boredom while my students were taking finals today.

Why is that that people keep telling/wanting SeanCat to return to "a normal life"? What about their life isn't "normal"? Is it because they don't work typical 9-5 jobs? Is it because they have appeared more times on Bachelor related programming/ABC shows than most? Is it that they have taken advantage of the many money making opportunities presented to them, whether it be paid public appearances, paid advertising via twitter/IG, etc.? How come their life isn't taken to be normal like the other couples? What if this is the norm for them and will be for the foreseeable future? And if they can make a living and be happy living like they are, why change? They do all the normal things all the others do: work on their respected jobs/projects, go grocery shopping, take their dogs for a walk/to the park, go to church, do devotional together, eat pizza in bed, cook, etc., etc., etc. I really wish that people would learn that the "norm" for one couple, is not the "norm" for every couple.

I think you're right, umngirl. Sean intimated that selling insurance was sucking the life out of him, and at the beginning of 2013 he tweeted that he had prayed that he would live an un-ordinary life. Though the things that have come with the Bachelor are not things that he pursued or dreamed about, I do thing he is happy to live a life which allows him to respond to opportunities that come his way... and I think Catherine is thrilled to live that life right beside him.

And for those keeping score for him- one of those opportunities is the ability to have a big platform to share his faith- something we will see more of, I'm sure.

I totally agree, umngirl. And to add to it, these opportunities that have come along are business deals. It is not as if it is a one way street. You better believe that people are making money off the Lowe's. Every appearance they do brings customers to the bar, store or whatever. Every tweet sent to their combined 800,000 twitter followers generates interest to the endorsee. Everytime they appear on a Bachelor related show the ratings go up and thus more money is made for the producers. And when they are not working for these companies, they are doing all the "normal" things that we all do that umngirl so well stated.

Above and beyond all that, they are excellent role-models. They are attractive, kind, caring and moral young people that kids should see more of. They live their faith and, like Jcrbil said, they give back by sharing their faith whenever they can. Jay, Sherry and Cynthia should be and are very proud of the kids they raised. I know I'm proud to be a fan.

I agree with all of you guys. What do people consider to be normal? I think their live is very normal and it is not wrong to take advantages of opportunities presented to them. It will be really foolish for them not to walk in the doors that God opens for them. Sean and Catherine are very smart and they are living their lives to the fullest as God intended for them to live. The point is those who think that Sean and Catherine are not living a normal life, they are just jealous of them.
