I prefer not to talk about religion here but will put in my 2 cents. I am Buddhist. We Buddhists practice compassion, love and tolerance. If you guys wanted to start a religion based thread, that's up to you. I would prefer to have all threads be something everyone can contribute to but would not have a problem if you guys wanted a religion based one. I would not read it but would not have a problem with it. I know SeanCat's faith is strong and I respect them for it. I know for those of you who are Christian, it's hard not to talk about it. It's part of your life. So if you wanted to do that, go ahead. I'm just saying we are such a diverse group, I would prefer all threads to be able to incorporate everyone but I'd be fine if you guys did a separate one.

Poppycorn, so glad to have your opinion on this topic as well. If you go back and read all the posts I think you'll find that we want to continue discussing Seancat together as one diverse family. I'm so happy to say we agreed to all continue to respect each others differences. I was so impressed with the conversation we had in this respect and it warms my heart. So join in the group hug we've had.

I totally agree with you. I don't see the necessity of having a separate thread. I watched Sean's season mainly because of his faith and I follow him and Catherine here and on twitter for the same reason. I can see that many people here feel the same. However, I have read some statements here (from those who believe like Sean) that made me shake my head in disbelief. It's not that we should avoid talking about that integral part of this lovely couple, but it's the manner in which we speak....almost assuming that everyone will or should agree. Nobody does this intentionally, but it comes across disrespectful at times. I think those of us who belief like Sean can do a better job of expressing our admiration for him living unashamedly for God without appearing condescending. It's a tough balance but that has been my observation. Just expressing my opinion.

I appreciate this post and also appreciate how difficult it must be to maintain that balance for those of you who are enthusiastic about your evangelical faith.

Thanks smartcat and glazedover. I had hesitated to mention my religion since I felt like most of the board members were Christian. Maybe I felt a little intimidated by it. I know Sean and Cat are Christians and speak of it freely as well it should be. So it's understandable our Christian board members would also speak of their faith freely. I have no problem with that. I respect that. But maybe our non-Christian members might have felt a little uncomfortable. I don't have the answers so I'll just leave it up to you guys. I will respect whatever you guys decide. I know we are all good people and respect each other's differences and mutual love for our couple.

I enjoy coming to this board every day not only because I get to read about SeanCat but also because you all make it feel like a family. I'm sure whatever happens will be fine. :)

Thanks for saying this, poppycorn. I'm also not Christian and was a little hesitant to bring it up as well. I've actually noticed the last few days how diverse the board is. I agree that as long as everyone remains respectful there shouldn't be a problem in the future. It's always important to remember that we're all on the same side here with our love of this awesome couple. yes
