Blessed, I think I've read it somewhere in a previous thread that the lead never proposes with the ring in a box. What happens is that scene is shot before the proposal takes place for promotional purposes. It's the same thing every season there's been a proposal.

This whole thing is so confusing to me lol, but I think what you said in the bolded here makes sense. It especially makes sense because Sean did say at the ATFR that when he read the letter, the beginning of it worried him. But in the second letter, she speaks about their relationship "after the show," in the very first sentence. So it wouldn't make sense if he had been reading that letter, for him to have been worried.

As for the letter, IMO - both were written BEFORE the actual proposal(ink, paper - definitely the same) and BOTH by Cat (the penmanship AND wording of the letter we saw on TV is very much all Catherine("you are deeply attractive" Smiley

IMO, Catherine wrote TWO letters and decided to give him the other one first(just in case she wasn't the one).... She probably gave this one to him afterwards. :yes:

I personally never bought that Sean was sooo torn and it was a last minute thing(this man wouldn't have proposed if he had only made his decision THAT day...) Also-> body language..... 'Nough said.

I agree that these letters are confusing but no doubt both written by Catherine when and how is yea the big question but so loving and romantic. I remember reading an interview of CH and he said that he was given the letter aprox. 30 minutes before he took it to Sean. He had it in his possession and it was unsealed and he could have peaked at it but he didn't though the boyish curiosity in him really wanted to. Does anyone else remember this interview?

Ugh, that list is soo cute. I love her dedication and passion, and the little hearts next to 60 days. Catherine's enthusiasm for life is really inspiring. She's the reason I follow this couple. I like Sean, and I love their love, but Catherine is like a warm yellow light in my life, and has been since I first watched their time together in Montana.

All that being said, the show is highly edited. None of us believe he was torn at the end, but that was the storyline. And also, we had figured out that they edited the part where she's looking at the engagement ring, because Sean said she never looked at the ring when he proposed, he had to remind her to look at it. So it's also possible that he read the second letter that day, and then the producers reshot that scene of him reading an edited letter, after they realized what was in it. Totally agree with everything you said. I was recently watching their final date on my iPad with my headphones on. I could have sworn that I can hear Sean whisper to Catherine "I love you". It happens when she follows him after he leaves her room. They are hugging goodbye, he kisses on the side of her neck/face, and as he pulls away he whispers it to her. It's very faint. I'm probably wrong but it sure sounded that way to me. But that's why I think she was so confident about their relationship.
