I think they changed it because in the letter it sounded like she new she was the f1 and tptb did not want us to hear that

I know, it's no wonder why we love these two so much. It must have been quite a night for them too watching their finale together for the first time. I wondered that too as to what verse it's open to.

We all know they are producing "a tv show" (Sean's words), so they edit, they voice over, and we don't get the real story because TPTB think they're telling a more compelling story. I don't know how the producer got Catherine so upset on the LCD and it's impossible to know the exact timing of all that was said.

It must have been something for them to watch the whole finale. Sean certainly was told how TPTB were going to put the story together because he was a good soldier and really marketed the season for them- I kind of like that he made his photo clear enough to be read ( he could have made it less readable just now if he wanted)... I think he wants us know that Catherine knew... and she hyperventilated anyway.

Wow, I've missed a lot!!

First off, love that Sean took Catherine out on a date, for no reason at all, as she said. Nothing like being romanced on a Tuesday night lol. And dinner and a movie is my favorite kind of date, and it seems like they love that as well. Good job Sean.

Okay then there was the tweet of Sean calling Catherine "wifey." OMG, melt my heart again and again Sean Lowe. I LOVE that. I have a feeling we will hear him saying that many times. Now it's your turn Cat, how about a "hubby" thrown in a tweet for good measure lol.

Now on to Sean and Catherine watching the finale together. I'm surprised that he said they watched it together for the first time. Was the ATFR the only time they watched the proposal? And most importantly, did they fast forward through Lindsay's scenes LOL!!

Of course we knew that Sean still had the letter, he even said it at the ATFR. He said that he still had it and that he read it all the time. But to see it again, (albeit a different version) and to see it on top of his Bible, well that is so profound to me. It shows his love, commitment and devotion to her, and how much he loves her and values her.

That letter is different but the same. And yes, I guess we can see why they edited it, even though what Sean and Catherine voiced on the finale was pretty close to what that letter said. What they left out was Catherine almost shockingly admitting that she knew she was the one. There were no doubts or concern in that letter at all.

The only other thing that came to my mind, was that she could have written the letter feeling pretty certain she was the one, but not 100% confident. And she could have told the producers that she wanted them to give Sean that letter, only if she was the final one. She would have no way of knowing if they gave him that letter as she walked up to him during the final rose ceremony. I'd love to believe that she knew 100%, but she didn't say she loved him until the last possible moment and she was really upset when he left that night. Even after she went outside and talked to him, she went back inside her room and was crying on the bed, and said it was the worse goodbye she had ever had. So for those reasons, I believe she was confident, but not 100% sure.

But wow, what a night they had. First a date night out, then watching the finale and proposal. I bet there was a lot of "snuggling" going on last night lol.

Do you guys remember the tabloid that wrote that Sean was so conflicted those final days that he insisted on meeting privately with both women after the LCD's? What if he wanted to see only Catherine alone and not because he was conflicted but because he didnt like to see her so upset and wanted her to know how he felt? That could explain her confidence in the letter. I dunno. Just a thought.

I agree with everything you say here, but in the past shows, they always build them up first and then the "but"... I think after seeing Cat so upset, maybe the producer told her that she was the one, prompting her to write the letter, but she was never 100% sure that he would propose because of all the "buts" in the past.

What is strange to me about this version of this letter is that from the very first word Catherine is confident about the journey they are about to embark on. At the AFTR when they talked about the letter, Sean says he teases her because the first paragraph was just a big tease like she was out of there. That could be said of the letter that was read on the show but not this letter. Her first sentence is "Starting this journey with you beyond the show gets me so extremely excited for my life and our life together." How is that a tease? I just wonder if maybe this is a different letter all together.

I agree with you, I am sure this is another letter after the engagement. You are correct that the letter is talking about embarking on the journey after the show. Even if this letter is after the show I am happy that she continues to write him letters. I hope they will be able to share these letters with their children.

I'm very surprise to see the written letter without mentioning Sean's family. But otherwise it's beautiful love letter! I'm sure their children will frame this letter if Sean doesn't do it. It melts my heart! I'm so obsessed with their love story and can't for the wedding and the next chapter of their lives together.:Biggrin: 

We sure need a book from them! So many lingering questions we all have. What a treat that would be. Hopefully it's a possibility one day. I sure hope so anyway.

I think Sean was still being a good soldier at ATFR. He knew what the direction of the questioning would be, that he would be asked about the letter. All the voiceovers they had to do after filming surrounding the proposal and the letter let him know the version the public heard.

I suppose the thing to do is to match the SCs with what Sean posted to see if it's a same or different letter. I do think the version we "heard" is the edited one. And what we see here, tucked into Sean's Bible is the only, true letter.

I'm trying to find the enlarged TV letter. I thought I had it but I guess I don't. Maybe umngirl has it? She'll be checking in in a little bit.
