Flatware yes, but no silver......I guess that's an "old folks" thing. This generation doesn't seem to want the bother of keeping it shiny, and I don't blame them. My son looked at me cross-eyed when I asked if he would want it in the future.umngirl wrote:Check the Macy's one. Pretty sure they are registered for flatware on that one. They are also registered for flatware at C&B.glazedover wrote:I think no actual silver, though, unless I missed it. Nice fine china, really simple with well-designed contemporary shapes.umngirl wrote:Well I think they've successfully registered for anything they could need/want. I can't think of a single thing that's not covered between the four different stores.
If you are trying to locate one of the registry links, check the Wedding-No Discussion thread. The link to donate to Micaela's Army in lieu of a gift is also in that thread.

I meant to add to my post that I doubt they would register for silver. Looks like they are going with a "nicer" set of flatware and then a more everyday version. Seems to be the norm nowadays. I know my mom has her set from her wedding registry and she asked if I wanted it and I definitely don't.glazedover wrote:Flatware yes, but no silver......I guess that's an "old folks" thing. As to silver.... some will, some won't. One of my daughter's will love it, and she's laid claim to one of my mother's sets which I have in safekeeping. My other daughter, I believe, is less inclined to.
When I was married ( a loonnnnnng time ago), some people did want silver and some didn't.... and then some of those who registered for simple things as a young bride wished they had the fancier things when they got older. But Catherine and Sean, at 27 and 30, probably have a good sense of what they really want . I kind of surprised that they only have registered 6 place settings, even of everyday things.

That surprised me too, considering all the siblings and assorted kids and in-laws in Dallas alone.

They're actually registered for two different place settings of 6. Perhaps one, or both, of them own some of those place settings already so they didn't feel it necessary to register for more. Who knows.
On a different note, is it weird that I look at their registries very so often to see what people have gotten them already?

And I found out I have to run a volleyball tournament that day. Life's unfair at times.

Haha. I might lose my job working at the school if that happened and I kinda like being employed. :Smiley:landrje wrote:let us know where the faucets are that turn on the sprinkler system and voila, we'll break into the gym the night before and create a Bull Durham moment for you ....umngirl wrote:And I found out I have to run a volleyball tournament that day. In all honesty, I'll be home in time for the wedding. But the fact that I'll be on my feet working from 7 am to like 6 pm is just really unappealing. I'll miss anything posted in the lead up to the wedding and have tons to catch up on. But I totally plan on calling in "sick" the next day so I can rest and catch up on sleep.
