Sean and Catherine, Ashley and J.P., Trista and Ryan, those are the successful love stories that keep me watching this show, hoping for another incredible love story to happen again. I always hope for the romance, and that does happen, but it's so rare for it to be REAL on this show. I know the format doesn't lend itself to real love, but when it does happen on this show, it's phenomenal and forever, as in those three couples. I think Jason and Molly will be probably last as well, but I HATED how that whole thing started, and it was only when I saw their wedding that I liked them as a couple and accepted it. I wonder how many more seasons we have to wait for real love to happen again?

I knew that JPa season will be a really challenging one for sure. I am not sure if I am going to watch because I really do not like to see the foolishness. I am sure it is really going to be very difficult for ABC to meet or even come close to Sean's season.

I knew that JPa season will be a really challenging one for sure.   I am not sure if I am going to watch because I really do not like to see the foolishness.  I am sure it is really going to be very difficult for ABC to meet or even come close to Sean's season.  

I find that the stupid seasons are the easiest to watch because I don't get invested in anyone and I can snark to my heart's content.

I wasn't thrilled when JPab was named as the next Bachelor. He never did anything for me and I never thought he was looking for a relationship...let alone for a stepmom for Camilla so that she could have a brother and sister. Having said that, I don't think that was a surprise for MF and am wondering if that was precisely why he was chosen? Recently we have had Emily and Sean...and even Des to a lesser degree...as rather religious leads (even if it was not overly emphasized). Both Emily and Sean made it clear that the FD were for talking only and Emily played up the pious mother setting a good example. The villains and raunch were kept to a minimum. Even though Sean was very successful both romantically and ratings wise, neither Emily or Des brought in the ratings numbers I think they were expecting and romantically both seasons left a bad taste for many. I think maybe producers were looking for a season where they could really throw everyone to the wolves and create lots drama and controversy. We already know we have the token drunk, the nudist and apparently the villain once again getting her man. They can go to town on most and nicely set up the ones they have their eye on for the next lead...all the while creating more and more buzz for the show. They have recently had several successful relationships and now can have lots and lots of drama and controversy to keep the show the talk of the water cooler.

Good analysis! I, for one, will be happy to snark along for the next few seasons, although I do like it when a Bachelorette finds a good man. Not so invested in the Bachelor.

Agreed, Sprite. I do think it's the "anti-Sean" season. They don't care about success in the relationship ever, really, but since they have been able to show two weddings in 14 months... and have another, possibly, in the pipeline, they probably didn't want to have another "successful" season, just an escapist season. So lots of exotic travel, woman craziness, no proposal.... to MF, perfect.

Since I never expect to take this silly show seriously, I'm perfectly fine with a season to snark about and make fun of. It'll be great fun on twitter. And let's face it, any season from here on in, Bach or Bachette, will fall short when compared to Sean's.
