I think Sean and Catherine would have loved to have had their party long before now but they were caught up in negotiations of what would and wouldn't be televised.... and then big sis was away all summer and I don't think she wanted to have that party without her.  But to my mind, engagement parties usually are closer to the engagement than to the wedding.  And I'm sure Chris' parents friends were dying to meet Des.  I'm happy for Des- I think she's feeling more financial security than she ever has.

I totally agree with you Jcrbil. I know engagement parties are usually closer to the engagement, but you are probably right about Sean and Cat. Lots of planning and negotiating going on!

We are giddy and celebrating in the Des and Chris thread because of the wonderful weekend they had and all the pictures and tweets etc. I am sure you can relate!

I believe their timeline is exactly the same, imo, and this was just a chance for Chris's family and friends to celebrate them.

Happy for Sean and Cat too and for all of their fans! It is a very exciting time. I do think Cat holds a special place in her heart for all things Seattle, and I can totally see Sean and Cat on their next (longer) visit, spending time with Jason and Molly and Des and Chris even if that means going out for drinks!

I am moving on from the double/ joint/ same day but different locations, SeanCat, Des and Chris wedding speculation. Glad our soon is nigh. Can't wait to see the look on Sean's face as Catherine walks down the aisle toward him. That's the moment I mostly look forward to at weddings. #bestmostbeautifulbride ever!!

That's my favorite moment too. That boy is so far gone, I'm predicting we may get tears from him before we do from her.

I'm a sucker for the father/daughter moment. In this case though, I think I'm most looking forward to yours. Sean's going to cry, for sure.
