I think Jay's a shoe-in, since they are close.  Having your father as your best man is very southern.  So happy to see all the engagement photos!

Yes, I could see Jay as the BM. :Smiley: But TBH I still think that he will be the one to officiate the wedding(that's what they always said they would prefer, his father or his grandfather)

Oh wow! I hope his grandfather officiates. That would be so sweet.

That's how I feel about my nail appointment today and normally getting my nails done is like a religious experience for me.  

Catherine's close girlfriends are all drop dead gorgeous, not to mention her sisters. She's going to having a stunning line up of bridesmaids and Matron of Honor for sure. I am hoping Monica is also Maid of Honor. That would is befitting for the eldest sister. I am so excited! Suffering from a loss of words.....

Wow, I leave to go buy a dress for a wedding and come back to see you guys have been chatting up a storm. My $0.02, I think either Jay or Sean's grandfather will officiate the wedding. And I think they will each have 7-8 bridesmaids/groomsmen. I know Sean has several good friends who are female, but I think since Cat is close with them too they could stand up on her side. I'm betting either Andrew or Clay is best man. Unless there's another male friend of his he is super close to that we don't know about. I also think Kensington, Smith, Paisley, and perhaps even Cat's godson will be the flower girls/ring bearers.

Ahhh, Lipsis, reading about the Santa Anas has made me a little homesick!

I'm loving all the engagement party news!

I don't know who will officiate at the wedding, but I think Sean has had lots of good ones to choose from. I do know who WON'T officiate (CH).

I know that Sean and Catherine have said that the ceremony will be tradition, but I have had thoughts that the wedding parties may not be totally traditional. Clearly, there will be Crista (MOH) and Catherine's sisters on her side.... and I don't know who else. Some of Sean's best friends happen to be women (Steph and Laura)- it's possible they would be standing up for HIM- on his side (I'm sure he has plenty of men to choose from to, but just saying).

I agree on the kids but I'm uncertain if it will be that many attendants. Maybe. So long as I get Austin (and Sean, of course) in a tux, I'll be happy.

I've been wondering if the wedding could be at Fellowship Church? They certainly have production facilities there but then I guess the reception might be an issue. Just hope it's someplace I don't need to worry about rain. We certainly don't want another Jason/Molly fiasco. Though, at the time, I didn't like them so I thought it was hilarious that California had very rare monsoon weather on their wedding day.

Interesting thought about Steph and Laura standing up for Sean. I kinda like that idea. I was best person at my bff's 2nd wedding. Didn't work out so well though.

I'm so with you on the Austin wish. I miss his face. I think 7 sounds about right when you think about Cat having 2 sisters, Crista, and so many close female friends. Not to mention Shay and possibly Steph and/or Laura too. Although, like jcbril mentioned, they could potentially stand up on Sean's side. At minimum I think they would do 6.

I know TPTB would probably encourage an outdoor wedding, but I think a church wedding would be absolutely beautiful. With them it would be fitting. Regardless of where it is, I'm sure it will be simple, elegant, and beautiful.

Anybody figure out what Cat's friend who missed the party meant by "see you at the rehearsal dinner?"

Oh, Lipsis- I live on the east coast now and soon the leaves will be beautiful- and then they will drop and I'll be knee deep in them!

I don't think they'll get married at Fellowship (or in any of the big non-denom churches)... they are so "theatre" or "black box" like and Catherine has said she wants beautiful. I would expect an outdoor location in a beautiful place. If they do do a church wedding, I would anticipate it would be in a beautiful church - but not one that's designed to hold 1500+ at a service. Of course, it can be made to look visually beautiful and they would have a set design team available, but I just see them finding a naturally beautiful location.
