Maybe they are doing something for TFG? They were wearing lanyards last time so it wasn't just a shopping trip.

One of Sean's primary roles at TFG is marketing, so it makes sense he would be representing them at the Dallas Market. And certainly Catherine can be credentialled in with TFG, too. And while they're there, they can also do a little shopping/dreaming for their future abode. Sound like a fabulous use of time.

That would definitely be true when they were there Monday as there was a big home market going on. Today it is just back to a big trade center but there are lots of permanent exhibitors (One Stop Bow Shop has a permanent stall there). Maybe they decided to go back and do some shopping since they have already been credentialed in.

They are so busy doing a lot of normal things together every day. I just love it though. It's cute . Love love it. This is what a real world and life is all about.

I'm close to a retailer/friend (and also have a Dallas-area cousin in the business), both of whom have shopped the Dallas Market Center for 20+ years, and unless they've changed, the Market was (is) a gigantic wholesale marketplace (over 3 million square feet!) open only to licensed buyers affiliated with retail vendors (meaning the general public can't just drive up and go shopping). They used to have an annual public event (over about 3 days, right before the holiday season) where members of the public could shop, but that's the only time during the year the public could shop the market. I assume they still only allow the public in once a year. They also had some fairly strict requirements on how many guests their licensed buyers could bring with them to the market. Trust me, I'm debating asking the friend and/or cousin to do a little sleuthing for us ...  

My guess is that Sean and Catherine obtained buyer credentials (hence the badges they were wearing) from The Factory Girl (who most certainly are licensed to shop the Market) and, I suspect, are there doing some shopping for items and furnishings for a new home. They can't technically make purchases from the Market themselves, but they would certainly be able to place an order on behalf of TFG and then simply purchase what they selected directly from TFG.

jcrbil has always, in my opinion, been spot on with her assessment of Sean (in particular) being very astute in regard to spending money (and I also agree with her that Catherine likely shares those same sensibilities), and by shopping the Market with a badge from TFG, they'll not only be able to furnish their new home and have a huge selection of furnishings from which to choose, but they'll also spend significantly less than if they bought the same items from any of the major home furnishings stores in Dallas. If correct, they're making a very, very smart decision ... and to put the frosting on the cake, are also giving us one more sign that a big event is happening "soon." In fact, we may very well learn that Sean has purchased a new home before we hear about anything else related to their long-term future.

There are certainly other possibilities (e.g. Catherine may have been presented an opportunity to go to work for one of the wholesalers at the Market - or the Market itself - and Sean was simply taking her there to show her around), but I really believe, especially if they went twice this week, that they went on a shopping mission for something significant. I don't think they'd go there and face the hassle of such a gigantic place just to save a few dollars on a birthday gift.

Totally agree. After Motheroffive explained how the market worked, this was the scenario that made the most sense to me. It's also possible that Catherine needed furniture for her bedroom or that she and her roommates needed furnishings for their home. Personally, I hope it's to furnish a secretly purchased SeanCat love nest.
