Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion

DITTO x100 on all the sentiments above. I love to hear that people are shocked at themselves for being happily obsessed with the lovely Seancat.
It kind of validates the fact that I haven't lost my mind. It's easy to see from the posts that this Seancat team are a group of intellegent, funny, friendly, sappy, romantic folks.
I also have NEVER called myself a fan of anyone, and then to find and join a fan forum. My hubby kinda understands somewhat but my kids are laughing themselves sick however they're sweeties and they all indulge me.  I DON'T care what anyone says I need to come here and follow my Sean and Catherine as if the were also family. There is something about them and their sweet real love that calls to you. I'll be here tissues in hand to see them wed "soon" please.

I swore I would never get hooked on another celebrity couple because I was completely hooked on Nick Lachey/Jessica Simpson and it was painful when they broke up. I never allowed myself to care enough about another celebrity couple again.

I've watched the Bachelor/Bachelorette from season one, and although I absolutely adore Trista/Ryan and then JP/Ashley, I never felt like I needed to follow them on an every day basis and look for every new pic and article about them.

Then Emily's season came and Sean stole my heart. I rooted for him, and cried with him when Emily sent him home. I was ecstatic he was The Bachelor, and got caught up in his season. I read the spoilers and really liked Catherine, but they didn't show her that much and it took so long for her to get a one on one date that I feared the spoilers might be wrong. But as much as I liked them together, I wasn't completely hooked until the Fantasy Date. When Sean told Catherine that he was the lucky one...promise, and they looked into each other's eyes, my heart literally stopped for a moment, I could feel their love that deeply through my tv screen. I was hooked that was it. I started looking for a fan forum and here I am writing fan fics about them, I am totally all in with them, hook, line and sinker. The good news for me is that unlike Nick and Jessica, I see a happy ending with these two, I see marriage and babies and forever.

Would love to hear how the rest of you came to love Sean and Catherine and how you ended up here. It might be a fun way to get to know each other and pass the time while we endure this slow news period. I will post mine in a bit. Hope to hear from some of the rest of you.

Good Morning Team SeanCat!  I am one of the new posters but before I tell my story, I have an issue with log on to my IPad. It appears I am already on but can't see how to edit or post. I am home today and my cell phone is driving me crazy. Can someone help me because I want to use my IPAD.

In the toolbar under the pic of Juan Pablo on the beach does it say log in or does it show your screen name and log out? It sounds like you need to sign in.

Thanks. I have tried to log in and the Welcome New Member box continues to display. It won't let me log in and I need to use my IPAD. I can only view at this point. Any other suggestions? :bigsmile:  

I've never joined a fan forum before either.  If I liked a couple, I would just be happy reading about them in the forums.  I've never really watched a lot of Bach/Bachette franchise.  I've only seen the full season of Trista/Ryan when it was shown and I really liked them, but I'm not really into all those manufactured drama on reality TV.  Then the next full season I saw was Jillian's, just because she's Canadian.  I followed a bit of her and Ed, but I liked Jesse on her season (and also I'd read about all the mess with Ed and his exes).  I saw the first half of Jake's season, then gave up.  I'll see an episode or two of other seasons but not really get into it.

I only got to know about Sean when he went on DWTS, which I watch because I'm a big fan of Cheryl Burke.  And it was only after that that I got curious about SeanCat, and now I'm hopelessly hooked.  So the only other full season of Bach/Bachette I'd seen is Sean's, thanks to recorded streaming that I was able to find on the net.  I'm also trying to watch a bit of Emily's season because I wanted to see how Sean was, but it's hard watching that because I can't stand Emily.  What a complete opposite of Catherine!  

The only other couple from a reality show I remember liking so much was Kris and Jon from The Amazing Race, but following a couple and getting to know so much more about them now is so much easier with all the social media and all you people here in this wonderful forum who keep us up to date.  Thank you.  

ETA: If ever Sean and Catherine would do TAR, I know they would ran it like Kris and Jon did. They never fought, very supportive of each other, always laughing, took the time to enjoy the culture and country wherever they were, Jon and Kris both had a rockin' body, got along well with the others racers, the only thing I would change is that they would win instead of ending up 2nd.  

I started casually watching the Bach/Bachette with my daughters a few years ago. I think Andy's was my first season. My daughter told me about Reality Steve during Jason's season and the whole Melissa/ Molly thing. Somehow through that found FORT but just lurked in the shadows and found this fabulous place during Ashley's season but still lurked until this season. I loved Sean in Emily's season. i was not an Emily fam so was glad when he was sent home. Actually for most of the season just checked his thread because this place was wild with the battles between Arie and Jeff followers. I was ecstatic when he was named the Bachelor and was anxious to see how he would handle it. I was all in from day one following the filming, girls etc. i followed the spoilers and I became a SeanCat follower when the videos from the hometown date came out. I was not at all surprised when RS announced that she was the one. I loved every minute of their relationship on screen and saw a lot of love there but i must admit was still a bit hesitant. I wanted to see it play out in real life because their lifestyles appeared to be very different. But I have become an absolute believer and now think they are perfect for each other. They are my very two favorite people separately to ever be on this silly show. She is fabulous - beautiful, talented, smart, silly, witty. The list could go on and on. He is such a hunk and such a genuine guy. He went into this to find his wife and he did that. I cannot get enough of them. But also for me a lot of it is interacting with you guys everyday. I look forward to that just as much. You guys have definitely fueled the obsession!

My story..

Back in 2003 I fell in love with the Andrew and Jen season of The Bachelor. I was embarrassed to tell my family and friends that, at my age, I couldn't stop thinking about a TV couple that I never met. In those days there wasn't much in social media but there was message boards. I googled and found one. I still belong to it but don't post as much as I used to. It's a small private board with members a little older than most message boards. It was a great place to talk about how I was feeling and follow A&J and subsequent couples as best we could back then. I even went to 3 wine signings Andrew did just to fangirl. Lol Of course, Andrew and Jen broke up and I was devastated. I vowed never again to get emotionally invested in a stupid reality TV couple and it worked for the most part. I liked some couples along the way but never felt the need to involve myself with them after their shows were over.

Fast forward to 2013, I had watched Sean on Emily's season. I liked him okay but since I hated Emily with a passion, I paid very little attention to her season. When Sean was announced as the Bachelor I thought it might be a boring season since he was such a nice guy and wouldn't provide a lot of drama because at that point I had been watching the show for entertainment purposes only. Nevertheless, I read the spoilers like I usually did and was surprised to see he picked Catherine. I guess I had a Emily clone in my mind for him and none of his F4 fit that description. As the season started I kept wondering if the spoilers were wrong because they never showed Catherine, although she did more than her share of ITM's.

And then, the kiss on the driveway...

My heart filled like it hadn't in many years. I literally sat there with tears in my eyes thinking "what the hell is wrong with me". I was hooked from that moment forward. My heart played in the snow with them, it broke hearing about Catherine's childhood tragedies, it ached when Sean stretched out his decision at the HTD rose ceremony and soared when I witnessed "the moment" in the fantasy suite and the proposal. I felt like these were my kids. I wanted to protect them from the cruelness in the real world; the tabs and the haters etc. I still do to a degree but I now have seen how Sean and Catherine have created their team together and how they have only gotten stronger so I don't worry about them as much. As Catherine wrote, there will be hard times, no doubt, and though neither one of them is perfect, they are perfect for each other. I've never been more sure about a Bachelor couple than I am about them.

I came to this board to follow JP and Ashley's wedding. Just lurked, never posted. I followed a couple of the threads during Sean's season. Again, lurked but didn't post. I'm not a fan of negativity so I wasn't going to get involved with some of the naysayers elsewhere. Then the Fan Forum was born and I finally felt like I could contribute here. I found my happy place and as you all can tell, I'm usually not at a loss for words here. Thanks to all of you who make this a fun, happy, safe place to share our mutual love for such a wonderful couple.

I have watched Bach/Bachette intermittently over the years... Really watched Ali's season, then sort of Brad2, most of Ashley's (but on line the day after or several days after- I actually think she was a great b-ette), most of Ben's (meh- again, online and days late because he didn't capture me).... then Emily's season. I do think that Sean was the guy for Emily if she were really serious about the whole thing.... but she wasn't really... thought Sean was right for her, but I was never convinced that she was right for him.... and she sure wasn't. I have been praying for Sean- while Emily's season aired and then as his season got going. I was really taken with him, especially since his interview(s) with Priscilla Shirer. I have prayed that he would be true to his faith, knowing there would be battles ahead.

I LOVE Catherine, and I love that his choice of her confirmed what we saw all along in his season- that stereotypes don't fit, that he sincerely honored each of the women by listening to them and giving his attention, fully (at least it seemed that way) to each when he spent time with her. While I do think that "indecision" was the storyline that TPTB made up for him, I don't really think that he was as indecisive as they want us to believe.

So I am first a fan of Sean, and now of Catherine and the two of them together. I hope we never try to put them in a box.... because they don't belong in one.
