I think the head shots with GSG are at the same time as walking away guy and Ashley going after him. I don't agree that he's moving to her right to propose because in all the years I've watched this show the lead puts them on their mark after the greeting. The only person I remember moving from it was Brad when he was freaking out prior to dumping DeAnna.

I'm not trying to make Ben be the f1 or JP not but just think you can't fit this into a nice neat package. There's at least the possibility that something's up. I don't get why both guys are on the left unless they're both the same guy. Thumb or not, I'm not even sure we're seeing Ben in those clips. I think we may have to wait until the MTA to see any clips so I think I'll skip out of here until we have more to go on or I think of something else. :Nod:

Wouldn't it depend on what kind of shoes she is wearing and how much taller they make her?

Not to mention the angle of the camera, which can totally change the perspective. That particular camera shot was not taken straight on like the one of Ashley and who we presume to be Ben. And in that shot of JP getting the rose pinned on, his head is down, making him appear a little shorter. He is still a good half head taller than Ashley, even when she is in (presumably) very high heels.

Even this picture is not taken at a totally level angle. If you look carefully at the counter/table surface of what looks like a foodcart on the left, you can see that it slopes slightly downward to the right. So Ashley is going to appear slightly taller compared to anyone to her right.

Yep and Mickey looks almost the same height as JP due to the sloping downward of the street/sidewalk.

I could be way off-base, but here's why I think the screencaps tell us JP is F1:

* Ben is in the blue suit and F2 (he's on the left, it's his watch and thumbs and F2 is always on the left in Bachelorette seasons -- Jason in Deanna's season, Kiptyn in Jillian's season)

* The gray suit guy moves from left side to right which is the proposal position in Bachelorette seasons (Jesse in Deanna's season, Ed in Jillian's season -- even Reid when he proposed)

There are also always photos of a distraught Bachelorette after rejecting F2 (Jillian, for example). I'm not convinced Ashley is running after Ben (or F2) when she bolts, she could just need a respite to collect herself.

The F1 guy is always MIA post-filming in Bachelorette seasons: Jesse during Deanna's season, Ed during Jillian's, Roberto during Ali's -- while there are always reported sightings of F2 (Ben F., Chris as examples.)

If the final two are Ben and JP, it seems to me it has to be Ben who is F2 and JP at F1.

I don't think there's any question Ashley got engaged at the FRC. Fleiss was too excited in his post-finale tweets, Neil Lane was there. Nor do I think she changed her mind and switched at the last minute. The day of the last chance dates, they show the Bachelorette as being torn. The morning of the FRC, she is always sure. No one has ever had a change of heart on FRC day that I can remember. It would make no sense -- what guy would go through with an engagement to a woman who 15 minutes before was ready to marry someone else?

I like both Ben and JP, but the only thing that suggests JP might not be the F1 to me is if they are setting him up instead to be the next Bachelor. Also, I think Ryan's return is just to give Ashley moral support and help her make her decision.

Anyway the cart is slanted. The cart top is balancing on the wheel NOT the floor being slanted. Even if the floor were slanted, JP and Ashley are on the same horizontal line. Mike at the back will look shorter as the nearer objects will appear bigger in relation to the further objects. So the truth is Ashley gets to about JP's nose.

It appears to me that the last sequence in the slo-mo is entirely different from the rest of the shots at the podium and looks more like she is standing where she is in tears talking about how unfair it is. The sun is shining strongly on the back of her hair so she is facing a different direction, but more importantly there is a tree/shrub on the left side of the screen. I can't see any such thing or shadow of one at the podium area.

Also, at this slow speed, it looks to me that she is looking at this man with great love in her eyes as he walks past her and that she may be just beginning to smile where the film cuts.

But I don't think anything bad is happening at that point, she is overwhelmed because she is about to get a proposal. And they cut it off right as she is beginning to smile.

In the slow-mo, it's at about the 3:08 mark that it looks like his arm is moving back to reach for something in his pocket. And Ashley looks down at that point to watch what he is doing. At the 4:35 mark he walks around her in order to get on her right to propose. I remember in seasons past people talking about how they want the b'ette on the left for the proposal so they get a straight shot of her left hand facing the camera when the ring gets put on. Because of that and the wind whipping her hair all into her face, it would make sense that they would have him walk around her to make the proposal. And the look on her face at that point looks lovestruck. Also her gaze is watching him walk around, it seems more circular than walking away, and at the end of the turn, right before it goes to black, she looks up, as if that person walked around and is facing her. So she looks up at his face.

Obviously this is all JMO. But someone else posted this all a while ago, unfortunately I can't find the post. So I guess this is just me saying after seeing it again that I still agree with them!

2) Funny, she is not looking at the guy much while he is saying the sweet nothings to her. She seems to be looking everywhere else.
3) I do not know how this works but you say, the man puts his hand in his pocket. presumably, takes out the ring, then walks around Ashley to position her for the proposal. Sounds and feels very wrong. The man is in position,takes the ring out ,then kneels to propose. T|hat is the real way it is done. So the man is holding ring while he circles her before kneeling down.
4) Of course the matter of the putting his hand into his pocket for the ring is just speculating as noting whatsoever is seen in the video to indicate anything of this.
5) I am even wondering if this man is JP. Ashley is in heels and still barely reaches the man's shoulder.

You need only to follow the lines of the sidewalk to see that they also slant downward to the right as does the curved banister, which also slopes downward to the right. The picture is not taken at a perfectly level angle. If you don't agree, that's fine, but there's no need for condescension.

Mickey is standing inches behind JP, about where Nick is, but closer than Ames (again by following the lines on the sidewalk).

Re no. 2, IA, in that small segment we see, she's looking everywhere else and even at some point straight into the camera, I did find that odd, she almost seems distracted, I know it was windy BUT...
I would love to know who's F1, don't matter to me if it's Ben or JP but until we get more SC, it looks rather difficult...

yes, Living, I think it is very clear that we both see different things! But both of us are speculating, based on what we see, not only me! It's all speculation based on tiny details and evidence. That's what makes it fun!
