Re: Brooks Forester - Bachelorette 9 - Fan Thread - Discussion #4
I doubt that CH could've developed very strong protective feelings for Desiree; that means he was likely encouraged to paint B as the bad guy by Fleiss.
I've only watched ep. 10 and 11 in their entirety, and watched portions of the show from ep. 6 or 7 onwards.
I'm really sickened that these contestants are basically treated like children, their every movement controlled and monitored. It feels like fascism/big brother control over relationships.
And when someone like Brooks decides to step out of the manipulation, he is hammered hard. His reputation tarnished: "he's gay," "he broke her heart," "he can't commit."

Had he chosen to stay in the game and had hidden the fact that he did not actually want to marry D, he could've have enjoyed the spot light, years of fame, and access to entertainment jobs all under the patronage of Disney/ABC.
Instead, now that he's chosen to do the right thing by being honest to D, B is being lambasted on social media, with people accusing him of being gay, CH raking him over the coals, and D taking jabs at him as well.
Moral of the story? LIE and the world is your oyster. :(

Hey, I guess it's one of those mind over matter things...if you don't mind, it don't matter! As long as he doesn't mind either.nannymargie wrote:Well he did kiss a cougar but we would have to up the age limit again for me to fit in.Adele1117 wrote:I don't know . . . what do you consider a good age range for Brooks? Also, she told CH that she was nervous. Most likely because Brooks would soon be there. Months afterwards, her emotions were still raw: she was taking jabs at Brooks. She was still questioning his decision making and his feelings, just as she was months earlier.
And she was near tears when CH said that Brooks broke her heart.
And I don't doubt for a second that while Desiree may not have been pushed to choose Chris specifically, she almost certainly was, or would've been strongly encouraged to stay on the show when it seemed that she was close to leaving, and by default, accept a proposal from someone.

Well speaking as a person that call it as she see it and not as a Brooks fan. She doesn't seem like a perrson that is so happy, at least not on that ATFR show and that's the time you should be overjoyed. It was like her mind was somewhere else. I said from the beginning Desiree was very easy to read. Drew asked her the question, what could he done different. With that look on his face, I guess he wanted to know why she picked Chris over him since she wasn't in love with neither one of them. Chris H. said what he did because he knows she doesn't love Chris. They probably pushed for her to choose him.

Sounds like Brooks really cared about Des but just too stubborn to admit it.
What notice to the ATFR, is Des clearly still has feeling for Brooks, she was very attentive to Brooks. She turned her body to listen to him. She still had love in her eyes. I believe she was still hoping for something with him but when he said what he did that dashed her dreams again.
When she and Chris was on stag on the couch, she didn't turn her body to him when they would kiss she just turn her head. Chris kept rubbing her shoulder, she was just stiff she wouldn't lean into him. He k Emily did a better job with Brad.
When she said she loved him he was shocked but it was too late to change the course he was on. Why else at the end of their walk he says should I go? He said he didn't know what to do or what to say. Maybe he wanted her to say stay, but all she said is what else are you going to do and you said what you wanted. I don't think he was crying that hard and that emotional just because he broke her heart.
Also when she said I wanted you to meet my family, he said I was hoping but I didn't know how conflicted you were with the other relationships.
