Re: Desiree Hartsock & Chris Siegfried - Media - Discussion
I was wondering if they're her and Nate's birth parents, and if she's Nate's blood sister, but I'm assuming TPTB would've exploited that story like they did her poor background.

They don't look anything alike IMO.bleuberry wrote:I was wondering if they're her and Nate's birth parents, and if she's Nate's blood sister, but I'm assuming TPTB would've exploited that story like they did her poor background.

Thanks Pia1 and Jcrbil for your response. I'm glad that she feels good about her parents marriage.Pia1 wrote:Her parents were barely shown during Sean's HTD probably because of the Nate situation. I do recall in one of her one on one date with Sean that she mentioned that she grew up in a family without much money but that she admired her parents and that she wanted that kind of marriage her parents have. I can't remember verbatim of what she said but my impression was that she had a happy childhood but that they moved around a lot and that they didn't have much but they loved each other.2observe wrote:I'm wondering if she has communication with her family all the time; but, only visit them once a year. I'm trying to remember how Des' acted with her parents during Sean's Season. It's funny that I don't recall much about her mother. Did Des' mother talk much during the HTD with Sean???Alanna wrote:Yes, that's what I'm referring to. Leaving home at 18, no support from them, seeing them once a year, crazy Nate...something is off in terms of her family IMO, but she now has Chris so we got our reality tv fairy tale. I'm so happy for her!soccermom333 wrote:Alanna, I am assuming you are referring to her family and upbringing. IF Nate did talk, that says a lot. I agree, she seems to have had it pretty rough. Chris is the man she needs!!
Veg-out I also agree with you about Jolly. I remember Jason was crucified in the rag mags! It was brutal, and I remember Molly saying at her wedding how hard it was but in the end it was worth it.
Glad that they are close by and I have a feeling they will be getting together soon. I am sure Jason and Molly will give advice and reassurance to Chris and Des.

I didn't think so at first either, but I did catch a glimpse of similarities during Nate's one on one talk with Des during MTP.grace8136 wrote:They don't look anything alike IMO.bleuberry wrote:I was wondering if they're her and Nate's birth parents, and if she's Nate's blood sister, but I'm assuming TPTB would've exploited that story like they did her poor background.

Is Nate still talking? Or are they reusing his quotes?

The gist of it:
“I’m really happy for her,” Nate tells Wetpaint. “I’m glad she’s ready to move on from the show and further her life with Chris. All she ever wanted was to have a guy and a family of her own and she’s found that.”
And while for months everyone seemed to think Brooks Forester would prevail as the winner, Nate’s glad he didn’t. “I think Chris is a great guy,” he shares. “His personality is a lot like Des’ — they’re both kindhearted, sweet, tranquil people. I know people got caught up in the Brooks thing, but at the end of the day, he wasn’t that interested in her. It was the same with Sean [Lowe]. I didn’t want to see her end up with him, either.”
The only thing that’s caught Nate off guard? Desiree’s decision to move to Chris’ Seattle home base. “Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great,” Nate says. “I’m just surprised because I thought she was a Cali girl for life. But I support her.”
And he’s not worried that the long distance between Seattle and San Antonio, Texas — where Nate has become an integral part of Living Waters Community Church — will hurt his relationship with Des. “We weren’t all that close as kids,” Nate explains. “But we’ve gotten a lot closer in the past five years. Our relationship now is good, it’s strong.”

Huff Post Books tweeted this, in the words of Stephanie Tanner, how rude!

Poor Chris, I certainly don't want to take away his sparkle, but maybe these poems are better left in the privacy of their journals, in the night stand next to the bed they share. :winkie:

I think Chris wants to publish his poetry for himself, Des, and those that enjoy reading them. One of the many things I love about him is that he probably doesn't even care what the critics think of his poetry. I am sure he is flattered that there are those that like reading but for those that just spout off about it in a negative way, I'm sure he just laughs it off and doesn't really care. I love that about him.bleuberry wrote:Huff Post Books tweeted this, in the words of Stephanie Tanner, how rude!

True, I just hate that it means so much to him and he is being endlessly teased, I can only imagine what it'll be like once they're published. I think of his poems as love letters that rhyme, so I'm not expecting a written masterpiece.

I know what you mean and when I read some mean things yesterday, I had to remember that at the end of the day, their opinions do not matter. I don't care if they are good poems or not. It is heartfelt and to me that means something!bleuberry wrote:True, I just hate that it means so much to him and he is being endlessly teased, I can only imagine what it'll be like once they're published.
