I didn't say she was a golddigger. I said she wanted to get married in order to enjoy all of the trappings associated with it:meauxwalk wrote:I think it's a little unfair to use the one photo of Des showing her ring as evidence that she's a gold digger and only about the ring. What about all the photos post show which show her cozying up to Chris? As for being a liar and fraud, those are pretty strong accusations. If Des is a liar and a fraud for changing her mind during a crazy dating show, then so is every other Bach/Bachette who make out and/or sleep with contestants and then get "engaged" to someone else...so is every contestant fighting to win who proclaim their love for the lead and then get engaged to someone back home not long after getting the boot...so is just about every other human who thought they were "in love" with a significant other and then managed to move on and get married to someone else.kash wrote:Yet more evidence that Desiree is "in love" with an inanimate object, the ring, more than she is supposedly "in love" with chris.
He's a standup guy. Complete respect. But desiree is a flat out fraud. No sane person can profess their love over and over for someone, state that she can't love anyone else as much, then turn around to accept a marriage proposal 4 days later from the very same person she said it wouldn't be fair to accept a proposal from since she could not love them fully.
She loves that rock with all of her heart however!
I don't have a problem being happy for the two of them, if that's your thing. I don't know them, so I don't have an opinion one way or the other.
I'm simply saying that based upon the evidence that is available, desiree is a liar and misled chris in order to get married and in order to own that blood diamond ring.eliza3 wrote:Is this the one you are looking for?black_tears wrote:Can anyone bring over pictures from twitter? -an expensive ring
-a person who loves her unconditionally
-the media fanfare and celebrity spotlight
-not getting the producers ticked off/being barred from future opportunities for walking off the show
-having access to future opportunities in tv, film and other media
She made a rational, practically wise decision which is totally counter to her assertion that she bases her decisions on her "heart."
Her "heart" told her to leave. Her logical mind told her it was to her benefit financially to stay.
She's practically laughing in your faces right now with that photo.

I don't mind discussing it with you if you want to talk back and forth and not just yell at us. I gave my reasons and asked you to look at them. I think Des is too kind hearted to do what you are describing and every girl flashes her engagement ring. I see no post show evidence that she is ignoring Chris. Looks like a typical night out with friends to me.

kash wrote:It's very obvious why she accepted his proposal. She had been twice rejected, wanted a ring and didn't want to be alone. Chris was "good enough," and loved her unconditionally.
But now you see her flaunting her ring, and ignoring chris. Which simply reinforces the obvious: she wants the trappings associated with marriage, and chris is secondary but necessary to the entire process.
She worked at a bridal salon/dress designer, and her first date was to a bridal salon, forcing her date to dress up in a wedding tux.
It's very clear what's going on here.

I loved that the whole day was all about them versus her breaking up with someone at the FRC location, then getting a proposal from Chris. The proposal was made extra special as there was no negative overshadowing of it.dw_a_mom wrote:I totally loved that it really was a surprise. Your post about Des. Is it about sour grapes as she didn't choose Brooks, even though HE's the one that left??kash wrote:Yet more evidence that Desiree is "in love" with an inanimate object, the ring, more than she is supposedly "in love" with chris.

Grace it was the going away party for Des last night. She was just having fun with her friends before her move to Seattle today. Nothing that she does now will be okay in some people's mind. Sure she was showing off her ring with Chris right there with her joking around. SMH with what some people will come up with and the way they will turn things around to fit their own beliefs or whatever you want to call the sour grapes that someone decide to spew on this thread. Kash - I see that you are a self described newbie to both this forum and to the Bachelor/Bachelorette having only started watching this season around ep 6-7. There are plenty of places on this forum for you to question Des' motives until the cows come home here:

I'm pretty sure most people's reasons for marrying include having someone who loves them unconditionally, so that doesn't really make her decision any more selfish or misleading than others.kash wrote:I didn't say she was a golddigger. They have both stated that they don't see themselves doing any more tv work, and would rather pursue their respective careers, so that reason for getting "engaged" doesn't seem to hold true.
Moving to Seattle, rather than staying somewhere they would get more "fame" seems to negate that 'fact.'
And, IMO, while you didn't say the word "golddigger," I'm not sure what else you'd call someone whom you accuse of engaged strictly for a ring would be...
Only time will tell whether or not their relationship is real and lasting. I wish them both well, and hope that they do get married and have a wonderful life together.

TA, and I also love the fact that Des only wanted Chris to meet her family. So, actually after the FD and her letting Drew go at the beginning of his LCD, it was all about Chris.Aunties_Love wrote:I loved that the whole day was all about them versus her breaking up with someone at the FRC location, then getting a proposal from Chris. How about we agree to ignore the troll? Talk about unnecessary negativity.

I'm kind of curious why she cares so much. Does she know Chris? ex-gf? Mighty passionate about her beliefs for a bystander!bleuberry wrote:How about we agree to ignore the troll? Talk about unnecessary negativity.
