Yeah, he made it clear. Thank goodness, Desiree didn't have the season I was hoping would happen on The Bachelor. I'm still hoping for that though, for the lead to get a taste of the medicine.

I remember seeing one article posted that (paraphrasing) Des was in love with him but he wasn't there yet. I feel that for certain within the timeframe of filming the show, he felt/knew he wouldn't get there. In time, in the real world, he may have totally fallen. We'll never know, and I guess he couldn't chance continuing and not getting there, especially if he saw/thought she had connections with Chris, possibly Drew.iamreal2u wrote:What the darn does he mean by the bolded below? Bachelorette's Brooks Forester: 'I Made the Right Decision'
In one of the most surprising moments in Bachelor history, standout suitor Brooks Forester left Desiree Hartsock blindsided when he said goodbye just days before the Bachelorette's final rose ceremony.
"I realized that when I was away from Des, I wasn't having these moments of anguish," he tells PEOPLE. "That was a big indicator to me that my feelings weren't there."
He says: "I wanted so badly for [the relationship] to work out, and it was so close I could almost touch it. But I needed to walk away. She deserved to be in love with someone who was equally in love with her."
Buzz abounded that the handsome former model would return, but, for his part, Forester says, "I made the right decision."
He adds, "It was hard and there were things I missed about Desiree right away. But I knew long term that it was right."
After their reunion at Monday's After the Final Rose taping, Forester gushed about the happy and newly betrothed couple. "During filming, I could see the way Des looked at Chris," he says. "Des came with the objective of finding love and so did Chris and they found that. I tip my hat to them."
Now, the 28-year-old sales rep is single and ready to dive back into the dating world. "I'm excited to begin the search again. I'll never give up on love. It's what I'm looking for, part of the pursuit of happiness."
ETA: I see that the article I read yesterday is the one atem posted a page or so back. But he also said that he and Des didn't necessarily look for/want the same things in a relationship, so it may not have progressed further outside the bachelor bubble. I, too, am happy for her if she's happy and found a love that will last with Chris. There is no doubt he loves her the way she's always wanted to be loved.

Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

"Yeah. I mean, they came looking for love and they found that. Desiree and Chris both are amazing individuals, and the fact that they've found that and they're comfortable with each other and comfortable with the decisions that they've made and feel like they can back up the words, 'I love you' to each other and commit to that relationship is something to be celebrated, and I am extremely happy for them. The phrase is often thrown around, 'He or she deserves to be loved', and I think the list of people that don't deserve to be loved would be a lot shorter. So the fact that they found that is awesome - everyone deserves that."

LOL to this comment. VERY TRUE! It means sorry....I like you but I don't love you. Loud and clear. No point of going for another date when you know it wasn't there.

I thought the bolded (they can back up those word) was a little odd. Does he feel Chris was a rebound since what happened 5 days earlier.

That's how I interpreted it as well.

I read it as how can they in 5 days after the conversation they(Bres) had. He however is saying well if possible, good for them.

atem wrote:No, I don't think he meant it that way...that Chris was a rebound. I do think he doesn't know how it went from him to Chris is 5 days though.
I know Brooks wouldn't be able to relate to a girl who can throw those words out and then be engaged 5 days later. Brooks is more careful with his feelings. In defense of Des though, she doesn't have to go about punishing herself because Brooks doesn't love her back and in reality they didn't have ALL that much to mourn over. I think her heartache was not what they had but more of the loss of what could be. In addition, Brooks never dated 25 women at once in a situation like this. Every lead said they understood so much better what the last lead went through after they were there themselves. I think that's why Brooks wouldn't be a lead in this show. He wouldn't be able to be real to himself.
