Re: Brooks Forester - Bachelorette 9 - Fan Thread - Discussion #3
Do you think if you met Desiree in a bar, do you think you would have had a relationship?
Brooks: I think the outcome would have been the same. It was really emotional for me to put myself out there. I didn’t feel the love in the relationship.
That makes me feel better because there was nothing she could have done...she made the right choice!

Were you still confident in your decision? Yes, I knew I made the right decision. I don’t know how I can regret being honest.
Were you surprised she was engaged to Chris? Not exactly. I had time to consider all the options. I’m excited for them and wish them the best.
There was a report you regretted leaving Des almost immediately after taking off? Was that actually the case? That was never an option and never my feelings. I felt like I made the right decision.
Spoilers claiming you were the last man standing and was engaged to Des? How do you feel about that? The last two episodes were very difficult. It was very hard just telling everybody ‘just watch the season and how it ends.’
If you had known how into you Desiree was would that have changed your decision?
The first time I knew she loved me was when I heard it on the dock. This is about my emotional process and about how I feel. Des was there (in love) and I just wasn’t there yet.
Were you surprised at all Desiree was engaged to Chris? To say there was no surprise at all, would be a stretch. I don’t know what her process was. Maybe she was really conflicted and my bowing out made the decision easier for her. I am a little surprised but not entirely.
Did you ever feel like you were the frontrunner and this was kind of yours to lose? I had more time than any of the guys. I did feel like I was a frontrunner due to the position in my dates (he was first).
Were you disappointed you weren’t The Bachelor? There was some discussion early on but I said no. Seeing Desiree, I saw how taxing the process was.
Do you think if you met Desiree in a bar, do you think you would have had a relationship? I think the outcome would have been the same. It was really emotional for me to put myself out there. I didn’t feel the love in the relationship.
When did you definitely decide to leave? Before or after seeing your mom and sister? They had asked me some of the hard questions, I wasn’t asking myself. It gave me the time to analyze the situation and really think about it.
Are you happy for Desiree and Chris? They both came looking for love and found that. I am extremely happy for them. The fact that found the love is great. Everyone deserves to find the love.
Would Brooks go to Des and Chris’ wedding? I don’t think so. It would be awkward. That’s a weird circumstance.
What’s something we don’t know about Juan Pablo? I think Juan Pablo is known as the neutral guy in the house. If there was a conversation, Juan Pablo usually took a neutral position.
What are Brooks’ thoughts about having a hard time articulating his thoughts? Is that a character trait of his? I think emotions are difficult to articulate period. Gauging your emotions and then putting it into words is hard. If that’s the rumor about me, I’m okay with that.

He's pretty dismissive of her in that interview.

So I’m supposed to believe that Des was that broken up about Brooks, the guy she admitted she wanted to pick and was in love with, that within 5 days of him leaving, she turned around and accepted a proposal from someone else all because “I was blindsided by Brooks I never saw what was standing right in front of me?” That’s supposed to make it all better? Hmmmmm, so many questions, so little answers. If that’s their story and they’re sticking to it, then so be it. Can’t say I’m necessarily buying it, but time will tell. Obviously, the offer still stands that if these two get married, I most certainly will buy them a wedding gift. Lets just keep in mind that three months before Chris left to go film this show, he had broken up with his girlfriend that was living with him, this girl, Ashley Thompson. He had met her in Arizona, they dated, she eventually moved to Portland to live with him, then they broke up in late 2012. So now Des is going to move to Seattle with him (where he has recently moved), and they’ve already got a place together. Amazing run the city of Seattle has had with this franchise. Crazy.

This almost reads like a gift to Des and Chris so that folks would not question him any longer. What I would like to know are the things that he questioned that made him change his mind.

Or he was really hurt. Someone do not tear up and be emotional 3 months after the fact if some feelings were not involved.

Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

Right. I thought about that afterwards. Like more closure for Des.
