You said it before I had a chance. But I will just chime in and agree!  I didn't get the adjectives and verbs and the talk about the emotional process. As Ariel said so well, too much cerebral talk, rather than just from the heart and feelings about love.  I believe when you know, you know. It's not complicated, it's not analytical, it's not difficult. When you find love it is the most powerful emotion human beings experience.  It's even hard to describe it in words. It's not about being intellectual. It's about passion and closeness and intensity and intimacy and a sharing.  This is what I am not seeing with Brooks and Des.  I do believe that Des has real feelings for Brooks. I just don't see the same from him.  

Native, love your love description... "passion and closeness and intensity and intimacy and a sharing"... I would add vulnerability.   And that's what I see Drew, in particular, is offering that may have Des backing off in fear... I mean that vulnerability piece is very scary.  And I said it earlier, chasing Brooks would prevent Des from being able to be vulnerable.  Vulnerability only comes with deep trust... and I mean, how can you trust someone that hasn't yet committed?

You are correct that Drew is offering Des vulnerability. For a guy who doesn't let people in that easily, he has now just put it all out on the line. However, you make a good point in saying that this very vulnerability could be what scares Des. Maybe that's why she likes to be the one doing the chasing.

If I may add my two cents, in my opinion, vulnerability is the precursor to intimacy as by definition it is is the willingness to expose ourselves - whether that be physically or emotionally - so without vulnerability there can be no real intimacy.

There was another thing she whispered but I couldn't hear.

Someone please tell me that this scene is not seriously intense body language and intimacy! Yet Des doesn't say anything in her blogs about Drew and also doesn't say anything about feelings for Drew to CH!  Am I going crazy? That is distinctly possible!       

This is exactly why I'm having a hard time believing Drew is F1...not only is she not saying anything to Chris or in her blogs about how she feels, but they aren't even attributing VOs or PIs to Drew about her talking about her feelings for him. Its just him narrating his own journey.

And to go back to her conversations with Chris H, here's what she says about Drew when they chat about her relationships...we have very clear declarations regarding Brooks and Chris.

Even if we assume that Brooks is gone at F3, her feelings for Drew would need to leapfrog over hers for Chris and given what she has been saying I just don't see it. Her comments about Drew are very nice but lack substance about her feelings. Compare that with what she is saying on camera about Brooks and Chris and there is no comparison. Don't see how she does a complete 360 in Antigua. You also can't ignore the beach shots of her crying next to Drew and him looking a little shellshocked.

Germany - No mention of Drew at all.

Portugal - "Drew is the best looking guy I have ever met but what's so great about him is that he is so sincere in everything he does and you can just see through his eyes how kind he is. (CH: is he husband material) Oh yeah (CH: But he is husband material for you?) That's what I am finding out I really have to discerne my feelings each day to see how I feel about each guy

Those beachshots as you call them seem to be happening on the FD and NOT the LCD. IF that is the case, how shellshocked can Drew be considering they went on a LCD and the MTP date afterwards??????????????????????

This is what is so concerning to me.  You basically recapped what Des has said and, more importantly, not said about Drew.  As you said, she has been more forthcoming about Chris. So based just on her words, Drew is F3.  But now that we know something will happen with Brooks leaving, then things get all jumbled up.

That SC you made reference to in your sentence in bold is what is bothering me the most.  That scene looks like she is letting him go. Or does she say something that makes him leave? He doesn't look happy, that's for sure! I am just trying to figure out when exactly that scene happens. It looks like Drew's LCD.  We don't know when Brooks would return, if that is how this is going to play out. Is this scene about Brooks coming back, about Des talking to Drew about Brooks, maybe him leaving? Honestly, my head is just spinning with all of this.

I think there is going to be some strange stuff going down, but in the end I have the feeling that she will end up with Brooks. I don't see how she does this complete aboutface at this point.

Knowing what they show in caps sometimes is not what happens, meaning in this case, it is looking like Des is upset and letting Drew go. Knowing from the limited writeups we do have, I am thinking that the horseback riding/beach scene is the FD. I think what happens first is Chris's FD..no problems. Brooks supposed FD is next and he leaves or is sent home. Then Drews. I think that she is still upset and as she trusts Drew(she said herself), she's letting him in on what has happened. He talks her through it. They carry on with their date. Then the LCD, I believe is up on Shirley Heights with the picnic and the lobster. To me that is more like a LCD, also considering it looks to be late in the day considering the sun. Now considering she is wearing the nude nailpolish on those days, the kissing scene on the bed could be the FD, but I would expect looking around at the room it is more like a LCD type room.

OMG!! I think that you both have summed it up in a nutshell. I know from first hand experience that you can only let yourself become vunerable if you feel like you can completely TRUST the other person. And it is terribly scary for someone like me. By putting your trust in that other person, you can then LET GO and let things happen naturally.

Also, this would help to explain why Des is probably more comfortable doing the chasing, than she is with being the one chased. "Letting go" is losing control of the situation, whereas you at least can maintain the control - if YOU are doing the chasing.

And I think I've said it before upthread - regardless of whatever else she fees she trusts Drew ! That was one emotion she put forth clear in her blog as well - no room for doubt on this one. Trust.

Since nearly everything else has hit the editing floor I would have thought they would have edited that differently and that would change since the finale - if he left. But for her to say that she trusts him at the current moment (in RT) is telling IMO. That and the whole Kind-hearted thing. I've been saying this for a while now and a few others have as well. If Drew dumped on her OR gave her anything of a hard time during his FD/LCD - she would have used another adjective for him like intellegent or good body or something less personal which could have applied to any of her top 10 guys who btw are all intellegent with good bodies.
No - she stuck to the same description that she had of him from almost the begining. No change in from then to now.

And I think I've said it before upthread - regardless of  whatever else she fees she trusts Drew ! That was one emotion she put forth clear in  her blog as well - no room for doubt on this one. Trust.

Since nearly everything else has hit the editing floor I would have thought they would have edited that differently and that would change since the finale - if he left. But for her to say that she trusts him at the current moment (in RT) is telling IMO. That and the whole Kind-hearted thing. I've been saying this for a while now and a few others have as well. If Drew dumped on her OR gave her anything of a hard time during his FD/LCD - she would have used another adjective for him like intellegent or good body or something less personal which could have applied to any of her top 10 guys who btw are all intellegent with good bodies.
No - she stuck to the same description that she had of him from almost the begining. No change in from then to now.

I know that you have focused on that word "kind" which Des uses to describe Drew. So you don't see him leaving then, I gather. It would mean that she lets him go at some point. Or else we have a real surprise at the end!   

I am addressing this to both you and Aunties Love. So you think that this scene in which Drew looks upset and Des is crying is more about him comforting her after Brooks leaves? Because that is the other scenario. I just keep bouncing back and forth between the two scenarios. As you said, the SC's are never what they seem to be.  

So then this scene would have to be at Drew's FD.  He is the one she turns to in her time of need.  

I also think that your mention of the whole trust thing kind of ties up with what we have been discussing about love. The whole idea of vulnerability and being able to trust before you can be truly vulnerable.  It really makes this whole thing even more frustrating because if Drew is the one guy she trusts, that should tell us a lot.

At least this helps clarify a few things for me now so I don't have to keep wanting to tear my hair out.

I sincerely hope that we get more SC's with the MTA.  That would help!
