I don't think you can go from total devastation with a guy you are professing to love and say you expect a proposal from to "coming to your senses" with another one in a little over a week. IMHO.

I also wanted to interject something about the debate about whether it's better to pick a so-called default F1. Well all I can say is, after watching those previews and seeing what goes down with Brooks and Des and all her heartache and emotion then someone please tell me how it's a good thing if she picks Brooks in the end? My question is how do you turn that around and have a happy ending? How do you go from that kind of betrayal and hurt to being the next happily engaged twosome?
There are worse things than picking a supposed default F1. Also, Des has said that she is falling in love with Chris. She has expressed real feelings for him. They may not be as strong as what she was feeling at the time for Brooks, but who is to say that the guy who was there for her all along ends up being the one she realizes is the right one for her? That could also apply to Drew, who has been there for her all the way. But up to this point, Des has only expressed strong feelings for Brooks and Chris. We don't know if we have heard everything she feels for Drew.
lets ask DeAnna about that... life with Jesse for the time she had to stay with him was not so great.
So how do you think it would have been if she picked Jason? With a young child involved? And then they break up a few months later? In Deanna's case she really had no choice but to pick a default F1 after Graham wanted out. He did not return her feelings and it was obvious to anyone who watched. She let Jeremy go at F3 because he had fallen for her and she didn't return his feelings. So she was left with the single Dad and the snowboard guy. I think she really wanted to pick no one, but didn't dare after giving Brad such a hard time about not picking anyone.
I think Jesse was in this for himself. They were able to do publicity and play their roles and then break up a few months later. They have both moved on and found their real loves.

DeAnna was under self-administred need to be engaged come what may by the end of her season. Des has not said that is her intention at all. She was in it to find love.
So perhaps that plays into the difference in how she ended her journey and Des did. Graham left at the F4 stage and Brooks just about the same + a week.

we agree... so how does this coincide with your statement above that
in my eyes there is nothing worse than being picked as default. Both Chris and Drew are watching the same show we are, only they even know the parts and pieces we don't get to see. how can Des go from gaga in love and in 6 short days or so, come to her senses and choose one of them, realizing she "loved them most" all along? I just don't see it happening like Chris and Drew fans are perhaps hoping for. There are worse things than picking a supposed default F1

But how can we have any idea of what really happened??? Look at all the footage that they don't show. For instance, Drew is in 2 different deleted scenes, one while they are still in the U.S. and they kissed in both scenes. People who haven't seen that footage would have no idea that they have already been building a relationship. Purposely hidden IMO. I also noticed that the slight uneasiness/unsureness we see on Brooks HTD (at least compared to Chris, Zak and Drew,) is even more amplified at the F4 rose ceremony. Brooks looked uneasy and nervous with his face was getting redder and redder, and then when she picked him it was really red. I felt like he had something to say but didn't/couldn't. I still think Chris and Drew have a good chance regardless of the spoilers, and it wouldn't be a default choice, esp. if Brooks tells her how he is really feeling, because I don't think he has truly done that yet to her face. Just a newbies 2 cents!

Des has had many good .. And nice things to say about Drew .. But the one that hits me the hardest was her comment about him being THE best looking guy she has ever seen .. Sure gives me the physical edit vibe .. Only
A bit of grace and a bit of badass

Betrayal? I think that's taking it a little too far. More like, being honest and addressing things because he doesn't want to go further and hurt her. Of course, whatever he says or does does hurt her, but at least he is man enough not to go further, when he is still unsure (if that's at all what happens). Betrayal is when you promise someone something or represent yourself in a certain way that's not true and Brooks has never represented himself in any way but someone who may be falling in love but is still finding it hard. When she asks how she feels about them he says they "have a good relationship." He says it's hard. He's never told her he loves her and she knows he's struggling. So, no betrayal there. Just taking care of things when he sees there's a problem. Whatever it is.

Now, I have said it in another thread, but with the episode description, I don't know for sure if the FD includes the horseback riding anymore or not, and I could very well be wrong on this. One thing that it does say though that still gives me pause is that their beachside dinner is interupted by the weather. Wouldn't a bonfire on the beach complete with a dinner go along the lines of a beachside dinner..especially if they use the horses to get there? That would still allow the picnic on Shirley Heights as the LCD. Still confussed.

You know what, I am not about to go round and round with this. My statement was that there are worse things than picking a supposed default F1. You did see the word "supposed". There is a reason I put that qualifier in there. That is because it may not necessarily be a default F1. Everyone is assuming that this season it's Brooks and anyone else who might get picked would therefore be a default. I don't know that I accept that. Hence the reason I included the qualifying word.
I think if Deanna had picked Jason, that would have been infinitely worse. He had a child. If you don't really love the guy, then don't involve his child. Deanna didn't dare pick Jason. She knew that she did not love him. She didn't love Jesse, but he didn't love her either. So in the end, no one got irreparably hurt. That's why I think there are worse things than picking a default F1. She wanted Graham, he didn't want her. At least she was decent enough to let Jeremy go at F3 because she wasn't feeling it with him. So considering she could not pick no one, then she did the next best thing. I never heard anything to the effect that life wasn't easy with Jesse.
We don't know that Chris or Drew would be default F1's. Some are saying that because they believe it's Brooks and no one else. But what if something terrible happens with Brooks and then Des realizes that she really wants someone else? Maybe her eyes are opened. Maybe she sees that one of the guys who has been there steadfastly for her all along is her true F1.
That's all I am going to say on the subject.

Brooks has been steadfastly there for Des, as well. Just not such a racehorse. She'll figure out what she needs in the end, and I don't think it's the racehorses.
