I keep thinking that the only way to make this all fit is if Des pulls a Mesnick (the switcheroo, not the crying)...

Brooks comes back and becomes the F1, fulfilling the spoilers.  At some point thereafter but before airing she switches to Chris, thereby fulfilling his F1 edit and the "safehouse" pic.

Voila, dumpster BONfire right through ATFR.  The end.

I don't think so... Chris was never put at f1 by any of the spoilers.  he has been if2 from the beginning and that is where he will remain.

Chris Harrison used the Mesnick description for the guys not Desiree.  

pulling a mesnick is "A pitiful display of a man breaking down emotionally" not playing switcheroo.

Brooks said he missed her already. So he had to have some feelings for her.

It is all so confusing. I have to give it to the producers…..they have us hooked!!

Let's not forget he did not want to leave her. Why?

And let's not forget that when CH asked if it was time he needed he said no.  

And let's not forget him saying he knows what love feels like and this isn't it.

And let's not forget him saying he doesn't feel that "pain" when they are apart.

and let's look at how CH is talking about him to the press.

and let's look at Brooks' family liking tweets that say they are not together.

and let's look at Brooks' going on cruises instead of mysteriously disappearing to an undisclosed location.

I am just trying to put some things together here that do not make any sense whatsoever for the "happily ever after".  I have no horse in this race.  Could not care less who "wins" or if this "couple" lasts 5 minutes or 50 years.  Having watched this franchise since the beginning, the unspoken clues are there.  No one is drooling over the happy couple.  Chris is speaking in less than flattering terms about the so called F1 in the press.  The uber-hype is just not there.  No "most romantic ever..." and I don't recall an F1 who asked to leave and said flat out "I am not in love with him/her" and then came and had a successful relationship.  (Ed and Jillian do not count as "successful" in my book.)  

I am right there with you on all the same red flags. Everyone should just go watch that portion on the dock and the walk after. Body language says alot.

Brooks wouldn't answer her questions right away, always a blank pause inbetween.

He didn't look at her that much but past her. Focusing on somewhere else.

She told him not to touch her. "no don't".

She put distance between them by moving away from him on the bench.

The walk off the pier. She is keeping her hands to herself.

On the pathway after a few hugs and a goodbye. The last hug he didn't even touch her. He kept his arms straight down.

Their conversation even said so much. She said she thinks of him all the time, misses him.
His comment was when they see each other it takes a few moments before he remembers what they had together.

If you love someone, there is NO way you are going to forget what you have together. Especially if you are apart.

I admit there was a lot that was damning in those conversations.

But there was also genuine confusion.

I was really bothered by Brook's description of what he thought love was supposed to feel like.  To me, it wasn't healthy.  

I also don't think he could have or should have expected to really feel love after knowing her such a short amount of time.  I think he could easily know he wasn't in love in the moment, but did he know he would never love her?  On the last, he didn't seem sure.  He seemed focused on what he was supposed to be feeling NOW.

I am also bothered by how clearly the producers set up this whole storyline, as evidenced by them flying him to Idaho with a film crew.  This was in play for a while, most likely from before Brook's second date in Madeira.  

So.  I don't have answers, just questions.  I want to see what they both have to say post show, and will be really curious as to what leaks out a year from now.
