The only other time I'd come on here and talk would be if I KNOW one of the contestants. Those are the only two times. Other than that, I just don't see the point of putting yourself through that misery.
I have enjoyed reading your comments this season, but per the bolded do you mind explaining that a little more for me? I can't understand what you meant by that and here's my reason. I watch this show for the entertainment value of it. I seriously doubt we ever get another marriage out of it and I can understand why, but why would you be putting yourself through misery by coming on this wonderful site to discuss the show?
I think Love_Me and San work very, very hard and most times are unappreciated for for all they do to give us a place where we can laugh, cry, rejoice, question and so much more, so you putting "misery" in a sentence where you were speaking of this site kind of blew my mind.
I don't always have a favorite nor do I always like the lead, but what keeps me coming back here are the wonderful people that post about the show and are here for EACH of us if we need something that totally has nothing to do with the show. When I lost my sister last month I couldn't have asked for or prayed for a better person than Love_Me during that time.. She and San don't only care about the site and the show, they care about EACH of us that post here.
I don't mean to be rude in any way, please remember that and I hope you meant misery just because you felt like your favorite wasn't gonna "win", but also please believe me when I tell you that there is SO much more to this site than just rooting for a favorite to "win". I've had seasons when I liked someone night one and couldn't stand them by the time they left, but it was the person MF wanted me to see not necessarily the person they are in real life. I realize that..
Thanks for taking time to read this and I'm sorry it's so long, but I'm truly scratching my head as to why you would think you were putting yourself through misery by coming on this site. : (
Wow, LoveDovez, what a terrific post. So sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences.
This is my first season posting and I'm hooked. I can totally appreciate the interactions and friendship, even among those that are supporting a different F1... I mean it's not really about the show or the winner, is it. It's really about feeling motivated to share our feelings with each other... like you said, feelings that only sometimes are related to the show!
I'm already getting sad about the end of the season .... like where will I go??? (actually for this relative newbie, what does happen? do people 'stop by' occasionally??)
Thanks again for sharing... hope to see you again soon.
All the best, Sue
Awww thank you so much, Sue. I wasn't gonna mention it, but I wanted those that didn't know yet just how wonderful this site really is. It is so much more than just talking about the people on the Bach and "Ette".
I've met some really great people on here and formed great friendships. Also, we talk about other shows and somebody is normally here year round. If only for an update about people on the shows. .. Do you watch Dancing with the Stars? If so, we discuss that when it's on, too. So we're here talking about one show or another just about all the time. So glad you signed up and are loving it Welcome!!. It's such a wonderful site and the ladies that run it are the best! In all the years I've been on the internet this is the best forum I've ever been on..That's why I couldn't figure out what she meant by misery and I've always liked her and I enjoy reading her post. I haven't been posting much lately as I'm watching the Big Brother live feeds, but I still stop by daily to read and keep up with what's happening on the show.
Again, thanks so much and enjoy your stay here. ; ) Later, Sandra
Thanks Sandra, so nice to meet you! I can see definitely feel the quality of the people here... just generally thoughtful, respectful, articulate... great group.
Not really a tv watcher. I pretty much only watch Bach/ette shows on network tv... I'm drawn to the love story, regardless of how manufactured or fake it may turn out to be. :-)
Thanks again!

I think it's easier to watch the show when your favorite isn't the f1. We know before the end that our person will be hurt but doesn't have the pressure the final couple have to try to make it work. I tend to really like people and (sometimes) couples until shortly after the show ends and then my interest wanes. I may follow them on twitter but I'm not very fangirly these days. I'm still a huge fan of Chris Lambton & now he & Peyton but they were able to form a relationship irl and not on this crazy show.

Definitely easier to watch when your fave IS NOT F1. More anxiety involved in the process but the reward of seeing and enjoying the love story unfold is satisfying. I never try to go further than the show and be a groupie. RL presents it's own problems and the survival rate is minimal. Takes work for any relationship to make it.

Thanks albean. Makes lots of sense... still, I want my F1 to get the girl/guy and not be hurt... so I'm always hoping they come out on top.
I also loved Chris Lambton and have caught his HGTV show with Peyton... and recently saw them on Kathi Lee and Hodo's show too... they are the cutest and of course, I'm so happy that they both have found happiness and each other!

I agree albean... Chris L and Ali taught me the hugest lesson. the spoilers were true no matter how many rainbows and lens flares I was able to catch to prove otherwise. I was almost able to bring you to the other side, you stood on that fence for a long time balancing your love of Chris against what the spoilers told us. JBF found the music riffs, the parallels to Trista and Ryan pointing to a season change, proof that RS and the spoilers were wrong... and then to have it all come down to the fact that the spoiler was correct all along.
this is the first season since then that has captured me and I thank god that who I was told would be F1 (Brooks is F1) looks like it in the end, and that finally the love story might be told.

I agree. I watch the show for more of the sociological aspect. It amazes me how this show tortures young people in un-natural settings. Deep down I believe that they are all on there for fun, to be on TV, and possible further their careers. Falling in love is secondary, tertiary, or not even on the horizon(this is where the weasels are weeded out). But who doesn't want to have fun and possible fall in love in exotic places?
I enjoy the scenery and HOW people interact in this crazy setting. I don't get too invested in the F1. Usually the f1 is not the one I would choose based on the edit. I foresee HUGE problems after the show, because REALITY with work, school, family, friends requires a strong relationship. Many of these choices are HORMONES only, and then the assumption of other things falling into place in the real world. That is why we have so few success stories.
In watching this show I watch for "baggage", and personality traits while the lead is focusing on a given partner. I'd love to be able to throw tomatoes at the screen screaming Noooooo don't do it!

Me too guys. Chris will always be my all time favourite and hooked me back into the show. I wanted the spoilers to be wrong so badly, mostly just to not see him hurt. Since then, I always watch to find my personal favorite and enjoy their time on the show, but try not to worry if they are chosen or not. Not working this season though. Too emotionally invested in the outcome because of how much I love Desiree and similarly want her to have a true happy ending.

Amen to that!!
As much as I love Sean and Cat, I wasn't emotionally attached at all.
I was so attached during Andy Baldwin's season, and I didn't allow myself to get really attached again, until Em and Jef.
I really like Brooks, but I am trying to not get myself too worked up over it all. I'd really rather if I didn't care……..it would be better for my sanity…and gray hairs!

I'm with you relaxing... only Drew is the one that hooked me back in... and of course, like you I don't want to see him hurt... Still, I also like Des and want her to be happy either way.... it's gonna get hot in the kitchen!!

I've been there many times - only had one fave (JP) end up as F1 - so I totally get why people sleuth and speculate until the bitter end. It's fun this year that no one can prove definitively what happens.

To me, it is harder when your favorite isn't the F1. You have all these people discussing their favorite F1 and you can't relate because you don't feel exactly the same way. I think the F1 always has the most favorites because you have those people that just love the F1 because they like Brooks and then you have another group that likes the F1 just because they are the spoiled
F1.

I agree with this. Particularly when folks are supporting the F1 only because they are spoiled.
But it is even harder when the spoiler is wrong and you have a gut feeling that it is. Because there is littel or no proof to support the finding and then you have this tidal wave of posts from folks "seeing" the ever lasting connection between the lead and the spoiled contestant who are unwilling to even consider the other alternative.
Brads 2.0 was brutal.
