Episode 5 - 6/24 - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion - Spoilers

First of all, Des looked absolutely stunning at the RC.  She always looks beautiful, but the Grace Kelly look really becomes her.

So happy to see the Brooks interaction.  I am a bit puzzled about why they kept in the footage of Brooks spying on Des with James.  Other than to show that he is somewhat jealous of seeing her with someone else, I don't get it.  He's not really getting a "bad" edit, but it's not a squeaky clean one either like so many past F1's.

I really like Chris, but there is just no comparison between the kisses with Chris and the ones with Brooks.  Having Brydon come to tell her  he was leaving during Chris' date was so lame.  Why are they doing this?  Are her dates that boring?  or is just distraction away from the Brooks attraction?  I love that we are getting poetry again, though nothing will ever compare to sweet, sweet Ryan.  Remember the one, I think it was titled "About a Girl".  I think if Brooks wasn't in the picture, there would be more between she and Chris, but it is definitely Brooks all the way.

There is just no end to the Zak W surprises.  I find the guy very refreshing.  At first he seems like this dufus meathead, but he continues to peel back the layers and show that he has depth and sensitivity.  I can see where he would be fun to be around.

I'm anxious to see Drew's date next week.  So far, he just seems fragile to me, seems like a great guy, just fragile.  Des is so lucky to have such great guys on her season.

Now I can totally understand my source saying that Brooks was the frontrunner. He totally is! And it seems he is and always has been all the way to the end. I have to say, this season it is fairly obvious to me, and I think a lot of others watching would feel the same. I need to see what the non-spoiled people are saying!

I'm watching with my husband who is totally unspoiled - normally he has no idea but he started saying last week F1 and F2 are Brooks and Chris. Pretty sure Cassie the producer said at the beginning of the season we would see a love story unfold.

Nothing really, just that she is crying in that light green/blue top she is wearing when she is hunched over crying in Antigua. The background in the PI is the same background in the PI's we've found that looks tropical, so those PI's from the other episodes of Des took place in Antigua. :)

I forgot what she said in that PI, but it was something along the lines of...I don't deserve to get my heart broken.

Just catching up on all of your comments from last night.  I woke up this morning thinking that this season is just a Yawn even though I like Des.  But I don't like Des as a lead.  She just seems flat throughout most of the dates.  Forced, uncomfortable, not natural.

And I just realized that Des and her season remind me of Ashley and her season.  Liked both women on their Bachelor seasons.  Both are smart and kind which are two of my favorite qualities.  But their seasons never did it for me.  And now I get it.  Both women fell fast and hard with their F1 and just didn't feel it with any of the other guys beyond friendship.  So all we get is some glimpses of the relationship growing between them and their F1 but a lot of uncomfortable dates for the other guys.

So while I am all for a great lasting relationship and even a marriage out of this show, I guess I must admit that I am as shallow as most viewers and like a bit more intrigue and good drama.  TPTB probably hated what they had to work with for Des' season which is why we are getting some trumped up drama.

YES! I really really like him a lot and I think America will too... I know peeps are afraid being the next Bachelor will change him, but I have faith he could be a very good and successful (in love) one!

Agreed! Especially if as the other guys have said her connection with Brooks was so obvious so early...

Yes. I have one BUT on Drew being "pimped" for the next lead... they did not show his 1-1 time on the mountain... They're being a little late showing his connection with Des to the general viewing public...

Love hurts. IDK him being the bachelor is a good thing or bad thing for me. I already had abandoning my RL for the past 8 weeks:nono:. IDK whether i can handle Ziggy for another 12 weeks!! :giggle:.....

To be honest it always annoyed me the guy in love with the girl would just stand back and chat with the others while someone he cannot stand is making out wit her! I think if he hadnt had his 1-1 time yet he would have soooo interrupted them!
