Episode 3 - 6/10 - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion - Spoilers

Boy she isn't shy about kissing as many as she wants to... I just hate to see what the media is gonna have to say about that, but if I were in her shoes I would probably be doing the same thing. : )

I still love Des -- I think she is bringing out the best in the guys by making everyone feel comfortable and at ease around her. She`s cute and fun but also no-nonsense and naturally confident. I just love her. She never seems to be putting on an act even though really you have to be a lot of the time on this show and she really seems put off by anyone else who is (see Brandon, girlfriend guy, Fantasy Suite guy).

But yeah. She does like to kiss the guys. I like that she owns it as part of being Bachelorette and she does look like a good kisser (if that`s not too weird to say). I think if it`s still going on at the end with the last few I`ll start to feel more icky about it (even thought they really have to do that). I hope F1 knows it`s part her job and looks at it that way and can see that there`s a special smile and look in her eye when she kisses him.

The best part of this episode was the western date. Everyone seemed much more natural and actually seemed to be enjoying themselves....including Des.

The whole girlfriend drama seemed so fake and scripted I wanted to scream at them to at least get better actors. Des clearly couldn't have cared less about Brian so her reaction felt fake and over the top. CH couldn't have been more stilted with his faked shock and the girlfriend...seriously. If you want to break up with the guy, STOP SLEEPING WITH HIM!!!

Brandon needs some serious therapy and I felt bad for the guy. Glad Des followed him and told him it was better to let him go now than when he gets more invested.

I am liking Zack of the awesome abs more and more, but, clearly he is in the friend zone as she didn't even attempt to kiss him and vise versa. Same deal with Bryden. He likes her, but, I don't see him feeling her and hence why he probably pulls himself out.

We got even more sob stories this week...Restraining orders, nasty exes, dying fathers, more kids, unhappy families. Blah, blah, blah. It is just unhappiness overload.

Is it just me or do a lot of these guys have manly, muscular bodies and girly voices? Someone earlier wrote that one guy looked like Ken, but, sounded like Barbie. Their whining and crying isn't helping that impression.

Smarmy Ben. Can he leave already? and can the rest of them stop bitching about him?

I know we all know the spoilers here, but, I feel this season how I did with Emily's. I just don't see the connections some of you do. Yes she seems to be into Brooks, but, for me that is just because comparatively she is so not remotely into anyone else...and I don't care how many of them she kissed. It is as if she is kissing them in a desparate attempt to find someone she likes. I just don't foresee another cupcake ending even when we get the requisite engagement.

I'm not really feeling this season. I know a big part of it is because I find Brooks so unattractive. And I'm also realizing that Des is kind of blah as the bachelorette. I feel like she had so much more personality and spunk on Sean's season. I still like her but hoping we see more personality from her as the season goes on and she's more comfortable with the guys. I'm starting to like the guys more but don't have one that I just love yet. My favorites are probably Drew, Chris and JUAN PABLO! That cowboy date was really fun and JUAN PABLO was hella sexy. Wish we could get more Drew. I don't feel like Des has great chemistry with any of the guys yet, including Brooks. But big props to Des for kissing practically every guy last night!

One thing that I really loved about this episode is the two group dates. I think that was so much better because we were able to see more of the guys and their interaction with Des. I thought the Western date was perfect, smaller group. One guy get some 1-1 time with her and then still having an after party for the other fellas. I thought it was great, I feel like I know them so much better at this early stage

That's kind of the feeling I'm starting to get. I was hoping for another Ashley & JP. :Frown: We'll probably have to wait for Bachelorette 20 before we see another one of those and seriously, if this show makes it that long, I hope I've stopped watching long before that.

I don't get Ashley & JP 2.0 or for that matter Ali/Roberto 2.0 from this (YET) either. I sorta agree with Trista sutter when I see a great frienship than a romantic relationship but obviously its early days yet and as of now, Des is the ever kissing bandit which makes it very hard to read her.
I actually long for the old days when the leads were able to read chemistry from a feeling and kissed a limited # of participants.

Perhaps the last few seasons the lead has been paid a premium per cast kiss. (J/K)
