This may be too personal, but how have you seen Jenna grow as a person in this last year? Jenna was complimented both on and off the show for her maturity. Where/How do you think she comes by that?

Not at all. I am very happy to answer this one. I sent a little girl off to college a few years ago and a grown woman came home. I can't say that I can point to specifics as far as this past year or the show go, but I do know that I have been quite impressed with the poise she showed in front of audiences and the cameras. She was calm, real, and completely genuine in a way that I have not seen before. even when attacked on stage. We were very proud of her.

Tim and Jenna are such an adorable couple. Scott, did you think Jenna would find love on a reality show?

Absolutely not. I thought it was just going to be a grand adventure for her that might lead to other things. I never thought it would work out the way it did.

Gosh, I concur with that. Often onstage it seemed like Jenna was the target for other girls' comments and even Matthew's. For the most part she held up well. I was quite impressed with her composure on stage, as well as not succumbing to the pressure of saying what everyone wanted her to say when she wasn't ready. You and your wife should be (and I can tell are) very proud of her. I was impressed.

Scott, do you know what day the Finale was filmed?

Also in Tim's song, he mentioned something to the effect that you didn't approve? Can you elaborate on that? (Those may not be the exact lyrics, but that's the meaning I took.)

No idea on the finale. Sometime in early August as I recall. Re: non-approval. Well, I suppose it fit well in the song. During the day they were at our house, some of the questions I asked him had to do with how he would sustain a relationship in a profession that required him to be away for large parts of the year. The narrative was that I was supposed to be really stern with him and put him on the spot. I asked that question of him several times in one form or another so it just kind of made its way into the song. Jenna told me it was in there right after she heard it at the finale.

Interesting, so is it fair to say that the producers encouraged you to ask specific questions -- in other words they had kind of a script for you to follow?

had to answer this last one. No script at all. I asked what I wanted to ask and said what I wanted to say. That line of questioning was the most obvious one and I asked it several different ways just because I couldn't think of other things to ask that would concern me. It became sort of a mantra and he picked it up for the song.
