The format of this show needs shaking up in some major ways. The formula is old and stale. The dates are repetitive. They really don't incorporate twists like other reality shows constantly do to keep it fresh.  The staff is kept "in house"--meaning no free lancers, no new blood.
To blame Des when she connected so overwhelmingly well with the viewers last season is lame. Her edit could show lots of razzle dazzle and spitfire--again IF the machine wanted to show that.
Des could actually be like Bernie in the movie Weekend at Bernie's and the machine should be able make her a live wire with the technology and magic at their hands.
Please Chris---you are boring.

True. Also Reality TV dating shows seem to be on the way out. The very dismal ratings of Ready For Love (barely a million) was proof of it
compared to shows Duck Dynasty with 9.6 million viewers and it was on cable channel.
The Voice (finale) pulled 15.3 million viewers! The Bachelorette didnt even come close.

People are disenchanted and traumatized by dating shows it seems. Still, the staff could have done something about the stale and outdated
repetetive storyline. Maybe Mike Fleiss and company just wanted to retire and end the franchise altogether.

So Carriotofire do you think the one line in Des blog this last episode where she said she and Brooks had a steamy 1 on 1 (that was not shown.) Whew! ....was put in her blog to reinforce the spoiler that Brooks is her final 1 when he really isn't???

I don't know if reality tv really is on the way out, though. Someone I am very close to is an editor and does probably 80% of his stuff on different reality tv shows. And a great amount of it is free lance. Apparently, that is the bread and butter of the business. He says that what he works on is fairly scripted--(not scripted as in they hand out scripts like a soap opera or series), but does follow a storyboard and they try to change it up to keep things fresh. It's cheap to produce and it seems like there is all kinds of crazy stuff out there.

Hello Luvstruck, I wasnt really thinking about that when I posted about ratings. But I have no reason to believe that Brooks is not F1. RS seems pretty
confident also Love Me and San Lee's sources. Guess I really didnt question that anymore. It just looks to me that Brooks and Des are very comfortable
with each other. Chris is a great choice but Des probably has made up her mind about Brooks as the F1 and it shows.

No Kash, not all reality show, only the "dating" type of reality tv shows. Duck Dynasty is a reality show and generated 9 or was it 10 million viewers!
Survivor is still going strong, and the Voice can be considered a realit tv talent show. Only the dating shows are becoming outdated.

Here's another more full quote of what James said:

So, if James doesn't get the girl, who does he hope (or at least suspect) will? "I feel like there's a lot of attention to Brooks. I think she's a smart girl, and I think she'll pick the right person. But I think it might be Brooks. She's looking for a good honest man, a Christian man, a loving person who has ambition, who has family values. Those are the top feelings I got from her."

Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion.  Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

Piper61 wrote:I can only say that so far both Brooks and Chris are funny and charming, but I feel that the comfort level between Des and Brooks and the playfulness between the two is beyond what has been shown between her and Chris.  This is nothing against Chris, he's a doll, he's good looking, he has the writing compatability with Des and his poems are so romantic but I think when it comes to that "it" spark, it's with Brooks and that's why she chose him. This is my opinion based upon what we've seen so far.  She has said he brings out the best in her. He always seems to compliment her, and turns the conversation to asking about her, etc.

Des has already spent a day long date with Brooks, let's re-evaluate once Chris and for that matter Drew actually get to spend some time with her. I think they've connected pretty well without the benefit of a 1:1.
