True.   Also Reality TV dating shows seem to be on the way out.  The very dismal ratings of Ready For Love (barely a million) was proof of it
compared to   shows Duck Dynasty with 9.6 million viewers and it was on cable channel.  
The Voice (finale) pulled 15.3 million viewers!  The Bachelorette didnt even come close.

People are disenchanted and traumatized by dating shows it seems. Still,  the staff could have done something about the stale and outdated
repetetive storyline.   Maybe Mike Fleiss and company just wanted to retire and  end the franchise altogether.

And a great amount of it is free lance. Apparently, that is the bread and butter of the business. He says that what he works on is fairly scripted--(not scripted as in they hand out scripts like a soap opera or  series), but does follow a storyboard and they try to change it up to keep things fresh.  It's cheap to produce and it seems like there is all kinds of crazy stuff out there.
