Episode 6 - 5/14 - Ready For Love - Discussion - Spoilers

I watched the episode and my thoughts are all over the place right now. I'm not going to do a recap, but I will share my lens for discussion purposes.

Ernesto was first. (I think he is a great guy.)

• When they went to the waterfall, his concern was for Shandi's fear of deep water. Hmmmm....

• Ernesto and Alba shared some great SQT on the waterfall date. He was very caring and they shared some great kisses.

• Mandy was working it this week. She was trying so hard to get kissed in the helicopter, it was uncomfortable. And no, it didn't happen. Or at least they didn't show it.

• Wow. When he told Shandi to put the flower behind her left ear (meaning she is taken) I thought, put a fork in him, he's done. Their chemistry is smoking hot.

• When he told Alba he had feelings for other girls and he wasn't ready to make any decisions, I felt if it would have been Shandi, he would have asked her to stay. JMO

• I wanted to give this show the benefit of the doubt, but I am NOT happy with the major manipulation of the production team with the way they had Alba come back. I don't place the blame on Alba at all. Sending her up at the exact moment the glass came up on their cubes and making the girls stand there and watch the whole Alba/Ernesto exchange was reprehensible.

• Despite the manipulation going on, Ernesto handled the situation like the kind and caring gentleman he is.

• So does Mandy leave the show or was she just talking about leaving to go back to the girl's house? :hmmm: The twins are showing similar characteristics.

• I was surprised, but loved the way Shandi reached out to Alba at the end. IMO, Shandi knows she is the one, so Alba coming back doesn't change the end.

I thought the moment with the song was fantastic and Tim said nice things to her, but something seems a little off to me. It's like his words don't match his body language. She moved ahead for me this week though.

I thought Sarah M. was kind of rude telling him to call her when "all that" doesn't work out. Not classy.

I applaud Jenna for not being in love so early on. :Clap:

Great insights ... here are my thoughts

For Ernesto ...
- I agree with Bee & others that it's between Shandi and Alba with Shandi definitely ahead. Ernesto did not seem that broken up to see Alba go. Shandi was definitely classy in her outreach while Mandy ... not so much.
-Yikes, Many is just like her tacky twin. She tried so hard to be irresistible in the helicopter but he had no problem resisting.
- The brunette teacher (??) seems sweet but no chemistry (that they've shown us).

For Tim ...
- I am just not feeling it with Sara & Tim. This is two episodes where she uses date to sing. Granted he is a rocker but she's reminding me of Wes in Jillian's season. I am just not on her fan bus. She ignored MM suggestion to show her fun side. It seems like she's using her dates to audition for spot as back up singer for PWT!
- Hailey - you go girlfriend! She's so pretty and genuine. I thought she made a nice leap forward in this episode and is more and more comfortable with him.
- Jenna - nicely hidden! She's just an adorable cross between a young Olivia Newton John and Helen Slater. I agreed with what she had to say about a little early to be proclaiming you are in love. Hopefully we see more of them together next week.
- Sioham ... Classless attack on Jenna. Matter of time before she is out. Can't believe she dropped an "f-bomb" on national TV. Yikes!

For Ben ...
- Beth ... Sad! She is so classy, sweet and smart. Wish she had stayed longer but maybe he did her a favor by letting her go.
- Renae - Hmmm ... I am liking her more and more. They had no problem moving out of friend zone and were pretty darn passionate in water. I also thought it's cool that he confided in her last week so obv he trusts her. Is she our dark horse?
- Tarryn ... not so much digging her. I thought she was quite the tease with him.
- Angela ... Nicely hidden! I liked that she steered Ally away from discussing Kari on boat. I liked her kick back shorts outfit which must have appealed to Ben. I also liked that Tarryn seemed to go straight to Angela for the hug when she came back. She seems to have a good head on her shoulder and is friend's with everyone. So if she's F1, he's got a good girl (and rocking body!!)
- Ally ... no thank you!

Just for the record Sara didn't use two dates for singing... One date was Karoke, not fair to say she used it as others prolly sang too but we didn't see it. He told her to pick a country song, that he loved country. And this one she wrote a song about how she was feeling and about him. I think it is editing, as I do see some moments with them, but they show a lot more of when he is looking away. I wonder why!?lol

Tim's dates:

• It's time to start casting doubt with Jenna and have Sara and Hailey move forward, so Jenna was MIA this week. All we saw from her until elimination night was an ITM about Siham vying for attention by pulling Tim up to dance. A bit of jealousy coming out, causing a shadow of doubt.

• I really wanted to see a connection with Tim and Sara, but I didn't. He said all the the right things about Sara and their musical moment was so sweet, but his body language seemed very closed. He knows by far she is the best fit for him. But their time was so serious again and he does not seem respond well to serious!

• I loved Tim's time with Hailey! They always have fun, it's light-hearted and easy. Tim told her he'd really like her to meet his family. And we finally saw a kiss! Woot!

• Those of you who know me, know that I am not in favor of people judging others based on their experiences and making others feel like they are wrong. I know I'm not in the majority here, but I was very disappointed in Jenna. I don't believe she had any right to roll her eyes and shake her head at Siham. No one has the right to tell someone else how they should feel. Jenna's actions towards Siham were very disrespectful and shows immaturity IMHO. Jenna provoked the attack and Siham responded very passionately. I loved that Hailey was patting and holding Siham's hand and both she and Sara defended Siham. I wonder if Tim noticed when the girls left for the garden, they hugged Hailey and Sara, but they didn't hug Jenna.

Let me just add I respect everyone's right to disagree with me. BTW...Hailey said in a PI that she was falling in love with Tim and I think Sara eluded to it too. So...if it's wrong for Siham, is it wrong for them as well? Okay...rant over! :Biggrin:

I watched the whole Jenna/Siham confrontation part mute, part looking between my fingers because I knew it was going to be cringe - worthy. I don't really know what to think about all of it. Siham is one of those girls that if she were on the Bach I would have felt the same way. I feel the old eye roll coming on everytime I hear one of those girls profess "love" so early on in the process. Even last week Siham was saying that she was falling and started getting all emotional. Maybe it seemed ludicrous to me because we didn't really get to see all that much of her time with him so I sit there and think "how?" you don't even talk to the guy. With Sara and Hailey, while it is still early (come on it's a reality dating show) I take them more seriously I guess because I see Tim reciprocating more with them.

ITA with you though about Jenna's "approach"(?)... if you even want to call it that. Just. not. good. Like you said, no one should tell someone how to feel.

Bee - good points about Siham/Jenna.

I agree that Jenna should not have rolled her eyes ... was immature.

But ... I think Siham took it to an even further level of disrespect by swearing at Jenna. I was impressed that Jenna let it drop and didn't seem to attack her back (and it turn out to be a Jerry Springer brawl)!.

And ... yes, most impressed by Hailey's reaction.

I do feel bad that Jenna seems to be now the odd gal out but it could be a coping mechanism. She's the youngest and even the MM said that she's been frontrunner. The other three are all Amber's gals so they've got that bond.

My favorites for Tim are def Hailey and Jenna. I am not a Siham fan and think Sara is sweet girl but not feeling their connection.

Gahhh, this show is so tedious, I give up.

All I needed to know is that Eva Longaria, decided to be her own version of 'the Bachelorotte' and dated the bachelors in the show.

noobs, FWIW, I agree with everything you say about feelings developing fast and early on, but you know how these shows roll. People often think they feel a certain way and then realize a few days after they get home it was "in the bubble".

IMO Jenna's whole tone and attitude was condescending. That's the part I take offense to. When you go through a terminal illness or lose the love of someone very close to you, it puts things in a different perspective. I don't think we should judge others when we haven't walked in their shoes.

Tks. Goodness. Just not getting all the "Jenna love" out there. She's clearly a spontaneous, fun, and beautiful girl - but she is also clearly immature. Siham was right. She 'judged' her. Siham reacted badly. NO question. But Jenna was incredibly condescending. She's also self-admittedly jealous and territorial (not that she had to tell us that.) And I can't think of a worse match for a guy who spends 80% of his time away from home...and who's job is the definition of sexy. Jeez Louise. What am I missing? Cannot figure it out.

Clearly, there was bad behavior on behalf of both Jenna and Siham. Feelings run high and the girls are under a lot of pressure. It doesn't excuse it, but it sure makes a person understand why it could happen!

I've learned the extent of which editing plays a part so I know what we see is not always reality! What you are missing is exactly what they have left on the cutting room floor.

Sometimes it just comes down to the heart wants what the heart wants. Tim seems happy and still in love with his F1, so it's all good! :campfire:

Yeah. True. But you can't edit around someone's personality. You can leave stuff out...and a lot of the context and nuance gets left on the cutting room floor. But you can't make stuff up whole-clothe about the true nature of someone. TV is admittedly about the 'moments.' But the moments are a very real.
