This picture is a more recent example of the "closed fist" observation I made earlier. For some reason, his style is a clenched fist when embracing someone. Could be just a personal preference and not a reflection of his guardedness but definitely a gesture that body language experts would comment on.

I'm no body language expert but I think it's kinda just a habit of his. I've seen pictures where he doesn't do that when putting his hand on someone's shoulder. I know guys who always have the closed fist when putting their arm around anyone, including their girlfriends,whether their hand is on the shoulder or lower back/side. On the bright side, Sean does have his hand open when he has he arm around Catherine and his hand on her back/side/butt. And we know he does have an open hand when his arm is around her shoulder too. SO I'm not reading too much into it other than it may just be a long-standing habit of his.

His left hand is on her leg (just above the knee) which could be taken as a sign of reassurance. By the time we get to the picture you commented on Catherine is holding Sean's hand "in place" on her leg - which is a good sign and indicates that she likes that "attention". I don't exactly feel a need to tell them to get a room, but they are generally quite flirty with their hands.

Saw I found this article of Extra's Special Dwts correspondent Tony Dovolani going around the Dwts rehearsal. He asked about How him and Cat adjusting to the schedule and here what he said:

"As for how Peta’s partner Sean Lowe and fiancée Katherine are adjusting to the schedule, Lowe explained, “Every night when I get home I make sure I do something special. I make sure she knows she is an important part of my life and it’s not just about dancing" :bigsmile:
