I think The Bach franchise is nearing the end of its era. Men and women want to be the lead for all sorts of reasons but to find love.

This season's bachelor is a partner in a furniture import business/former fitness model/insurance salesman & college football player who didn't make the NFL. OK, so he's blonde, beefy, handsome, and a hunk. But there are many others just as attractive. So what makes him a catch exactly?

I'm always vocal about Sean not being that good of a catch anyway. Catherine can do much much better and that I believe in the bottom of my heart.
Sean being a catch is an illusion helped by the fact that he was "the Bachelor" .
If Catherine first met Sean as the lumbering mess that he is now in DWTS. I do not think she would even consider him as a hunk.

People who didn't know Sean in the Bachelor and only saw him as that shimmying dolt who dances like a girl catching fireflies in the prairie,
cannot for the life of them fathom how he was the bachelor.

If you really ask me, Catherine can be a better match for someone like Andy Baldwin, a doctor and humanitarian who is more a man of action than words. Since Catherine likes going to far flung countries to be of help, Baldwin may be a better match. When Lowe was so confused on who to choose between
Lindsay and Catherine, I was hoping the girls would just leave him last minute and walk together hand in hand without heels,
drink beer and have some girly fun.

When Lowe was so proud and repeatedly announce to the world that he was confused on who to choose to marry even the at the very last week/day/,
I was so disgusted by it. No woman should settle for that. But maybe its just me.

He was a fan favorite on the previous season? I think that's the main criteria now for being the lead. The rest can be created to make you look like more of a catch. But I still consider Sean a catch. If a carbon copy of him showed up on my doorstep tomorrow he definitely is getting invited in.

And charriotoffire, you can best bet I'll bring anything interesting over here. But it's really been a slow week outside of DWTS. And I think I like it here. Sure beats some of the craziness I've dealt with the last few days on the board and in my job.

Agree on the bold. Even if it was part of his script from TPTB, he should have refuted it as soon as the show was over.

Ok, romantic movie, let's see.... How about another Colin Firth movie, Girl with a Pearl Earring? Do you watch Japanese anime? Howl's Moving Castle & Spirited Away have both adventure and romance. I also watch Korean dramas and they have good romantic serials! I need to go back to my usual hangout at Goodreads, I'm SO behind on my reading....

Jason wasn't a successful business man. Ben's winery wasnt an established company before he did the show. Jake wasnt flying Captain Sully sized-planes/owned a limousine business. Palmer was a backup QB that rarely got any playing time on the field, and then got cut. Sean falls in the same category with these guys. Personally, I don't think any of the guys I mentioned were "successful". Some of our Bachelorettes werent successful either...but everyone views success differently.

I do kind of miss the days when our leads weren't so regular but I know that there are a lot of fans that like that, I guess it makes them more relatable.
