I don't think it has anything to do with Des or the guys. This show's getting old; i'm surprised the bachelorette series has lasted this long (It's always had lower ratings than the bachelor, right?).

Des has grown on me from her recent interviews. She looked beautiful in her gown too. I'll be watching all summer!

I agree! I will be watching all summer and yes the Bachelor always does better...because, it's not on during the summer! Desiree's season started way later than others and was up against The Voice! It did it's best ratings in years in that time slot and it was on Memorial Day (the usually lowest rated time for the Bachelorette). Plus, has anyone else not noticed that reality shows (including The Voice) are not doing as well? Right now dramas are doing better and reality tv hits are on cable and shown a billion times.

My favorite part of this show now is hanging out with you guys and talking about the show. Early sleuthing is also my favorite part. Smiley

I agree. This show has always been boring and when FORT started to spoil, it perked up my interest. I made some suggestions in the thread for production. As if they would ever read them. no no

And this is why I look forward to any drama it may offer. Without a psycho or girlfriend showing up, what do we have? Not much.

Is it me or is it the guys? They don't seem that attractive this time out. (exceptions, of course)

And I may have trouble warming to her F1 too. I hope I like him more as I see the show unfold. I guess my opinion is based on superficial things, but in addition to not seeing him as handsome, his grooming puts me off.

I finally finished watching episode 1 last night. Boring, but then first episodes are seldom good. I have watched and posted since B2, missing only the Prince due to an out-of-the-country vacation. I really think this cast isn't up to their standards. I hope they prove me wrong!

I can't remember the men as a whole in other seasons well. Maybe we are just getting tired of the old dull format. That said I have no clue why the magican was even chosen other than he could do a few tricks to break the monotany of the cocktail party? He was CLEARLY no one Des would have even talked to outside of this show. I found him extremely off putting.

I think there are probably 5 or 6 contenders and that is really all you need. And since we know she is engaged, this season was a success. Whether they make it for the long haul does not figure into the success part for me.

If Brooks would shave and trim his hair I think he is a very good looking man. He has beautiful cheeks with deep dimple lines that are obscured with the scruff.

Per the bolded:
Since Brad 1.0 the termination of every season is with an "engagement". I don't think it's even an option after Brad's first season. How the couple ends up with that result and what that result actually means for their future is another subject. But saying a relationship ends up in engagement (IMOAA) means no more or less than the fact there is a Meat and Geek each first episode. It's part of the formula.

No good deed goes unpunished.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, bye Felicia!

ITA with the bolded... Des doesn't need 19 great men. She only needs one. I hope that one was there for her. She is such a sweetheart. Altho I wasn't crazy about her dress, I thought it fit her lovely..

I had a little trouble enjoying the episode. Images of Julie Gristlewaite (Burning Love) kept filling my mind. I laughed out loud when I saw the Burning Love parody, but now I want to go back to enjoying romance (pretend, fake, I don't care) and it has gotten a little difficult ...

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

I could not find a thread here with Des' blog so I will comment here.

It was vacant and boring. Just once I would like to read a candid and authentic report. She was in no doubt about about sending those home who she did! Come on Des, stop gushing, you can be honest without being mean.

california90, this thread is loaded with posts talking about the men. General consensus, not great.
