In any case, here's Mister Case...

We've heard that you and Brooks go head to head in the next episode, but you mentioned you think he'd be good with Des. What's your general opinion of him?

"I was friends with everybody. He's not a bad guy. People have to understand, you're trying to date one girl and you have 20-something-odd guys. The first few weeks, you don't think of it as a competition. You're there, you're enjoying the moment. But then people start getting dates and feelings really start to get all over the place. Ups and downs all around, and then things start to happen. If you're not strong with your character, if you don't have good character, and if you don't have a good sense of self, then you can destroy yourself in a certain way. People might start talking bad about somebody else because it's that competition feeling and they're trying to do anything they can to be on top. And unfortunately things throughout that whole season, the feelings start to get mixed around. But I can guarantee you this, at the end of the day it's like every other show and everybody's going to be friends again and it's all good. We just hope that everybody's happy at the end of it."

Not sure if the "strong with your character" lines are about himself or Brooks. Maybe both. Funny, how Drew is not even mentioned in James' interview and he's the one folks think is losing his cool at the end.

Hi, I agree with you about who the VO is. Anyway, I've been meaning to tell you that it turns out that you are right about Zak being a Leo. His birthday is July 29th and not in April. Time to polish that crystal ball!

Well... all of these guys are fooling us to no end! We thought Brooks was a Cancer and it turned out he's a Libra, whose favorite animal is Leo The Lion. Ha ha!

Did you notice that the preview of Brooks saying 'take a stab at you' what seemed to be James, but James was wearing what he does when Drew calls him out in Spain?

Desiree, episode #3 (LA)… well, she is almost there with him

“I love my conversations with Brooks and how he just brings out the best in me. Everything comes naturally to where we don’t have to try to make it work. There’s just a chemistry there that works.”

Desiree, episode #5 (Munich)… looks like Brooks has a hellavah lot to catch up to now

“Today was so hard on me but I'm so happy that it was Chris on this date and nobody else because I can trust Chris with my heart. He's supportive, he's kind, he's romantic… he's expressive. He's everything that I could want in a husband."

JBF, wait to see what des says about brooks after her second 1-1. really though, i think there is lots of misdirection in what the lead says about the contestants especially once we get to HTDs and on. i think the best way to pick the F1 is just by their connection. that is what i've done every time and the only time i got fooled was paying too much attention to what the lead said. you can't really hide chemisty imo.

This very cool but it sounds a little like apples and oranges....you're comparing two first 1 on 1 dates with a second 1 on 1 date , a FD, and a HTD which are further along in the process. I am sure I've heard leads make assertions about a lot of the guys being "the one" early on.  I will put a pin on this post and save it for later episodes

Good point. On Des and Brooks' one on one she mentioned something about him and that was what she was looking for in a husband. ITA too that until we see another one on one and Des's PI's and interaction with Brooks things will change.

i didn't mean that everything des says is misdirection, but that some of it is, so you have to take what they say with a grain of salt and compare it to the chemistry and connection. with ash's season i actually thought she was going to pick ben because i paid way too much attention to what she said. she made comments about seeing him as her husband or spending the rest of her life with him or something to that effect. that was the first time i paid more attention to the leads comments and ignored my gut impression. i'm not making that mistake again. you can't really fake chemistry or a connection very well but the lead can certainly say things to mislead which they have to for the producers.

If she is as equally confident with Brooks in Madeira, than fasten your seatbelts. Jason Mesnick Bachlorette style is a-happening. Sean was careful with his lines... well, maybe not in the fantasy suite with AshLee... by saying he saw qualities in each contestant that he saw in a wife. Also all of these leads say they "can" see a future with each contestant.

During Brooks date, she does ask "can it get any better than this?" At the time, I thought this definitely proved he was F1 since Ben said "Is it too good to be true?" with Courtney. Yet both Desiree and Ben are describing a situation rather than the person. Granted, Ben later answers himself with a "yes" in the finale (even if viewers were scratching their heads as he bent down to give Courtney her ring). Ali asked if Roberto was too good to be true and she answered herself in the above quote.

Like I joked, she could have been drinking too much Munich beer. I don't want to just say "I think the spoilers are wrong" since I wasn't a fly on the wall at the final rose ceremony. I will suggest that Desiree is not afraid of practical jokes (i.e. fake boyfriends on hometown dates) and we did have a rap video with the guys playing "roles" (which neither Brooks nor Chris attended by the way)... and supposedly Chris and Brooks were friendly enough that I don't think one will be in a state of rage if not chosen. Not sure about Drew or somebody else if he somehow factors late in the game and discovers the final two were "in on a deception".

That's how I am. Try not to dispute the spoilers too much initially, but notice the puzzle pieces that don't fit just in case there's a "gotcha" at the end of this. I mean... how many of us here would be upset if she picks Brooks... or Chris? It is not like these guys are at war with each other and one is "not here for the right reasons" (*drink*)

I don't know where to put this. But what is odd to me, is the body language with Brooks is far better and more comfortable than with Chris at that level they don't compare, but in the VO's to this point you are making an interesting case. I will wait and see after the next 1:1 with Brooks as her first was so early in the season. At this point I believe the spoilers based on what I have seen so far, but I do like all of the F4 this year.
