Episode 4 - 1/28 - Bachelor 17 - Discussion - Spoilers

When they leave LA (or in Emily's case, Charlotte), Chris often (usually) comes in the next morning to tell them to pack bags and that the Bachelor/ette has already departed. Once they are away from home base, the lead will announce after the RC.

o.k. Guess I'm losing my mind!

I am sure the girls will be glad to be out of the mansion....and I am certainly looking forward to a change of scenery.

I also noticed that there were actually 5 rather than 4. So I guess either Sean was so overcome by sitting next to Catherine that he lost the ability to count or it's another case of splicing and dicing.

She was not among the five shown.

i watched their scene finally... oh my gosh, they're just soooo cute! its also cute that he notices that he laughs and she giggles. idk i could analyze their cuteness, but ya'll might think i'm crazy haha.

I think everyone has got it covered in this thread, but I will say that when Sean kisses her cheek (and also shown on her date in Canada in upcoming previews), something about it is very sweet. Some of his first kisses with the other girls are kind of make-out and their kiss is short and sweet, plus the added kiss on the cheek. Catherine said in her ITM that it was short, sweet, and perfect because it left them both wanting more and it opens up room for Sean to chase after her. I think she surprises Sean in many ways that he didn't expect and thus why he's so drawn to her. He laughs A LOT with her.. not sure what other contestant makes him laugh the way Catherine does. And Sean said she was affectionate, which I think some of the other girls are lacking. To be honest, I think she's really hard to beat (for Sean). Catherine has something that none of the girls have and I can't quite put my finger on it, but it is something!

Had Sean not picked her in the end, I still think she was genuine in getting to know Sean and she probably would have left as a classy lady. But I can't really wait for upcoming episodes. Their chemistry is undeniable and I can't wait to see how their story unfolds.

This part from Sean's blog about his time with Catherine in this epi just slays me!

"What you didn't see was her excitement after. She was giddy and suggested that we frolic – definitely the first time I received that request, so I obliged. We skipped around the driveway ... and then played Dungeons and Dragons (not really)."

I wonder why Sean thought Catherine might be putting him in the "friend zone"? Was it because she wasn't all over him like some of the other girls appear to be?

I guess we might never know why because most of their interactions up until Monday night had not been shown.

In every single photo of Catherine, she has a smile on her face. She seems laid-back, extremely friendly and likeable with the other girls. Sean wondering if he was just in her friend-zone might have been because he couldn't see any anxiety or jealousy in her demeanor, where he might have expected something like that to creep out if she cared. Just a thought - may or may not have merit!

I agree. I remember seeing the picture of her in her dinosaur costume and she had me hooked. There is a certain quality about her ... that intangiable "IT". I was trying to figure out just what IT is. Yes she is nice, cute, funny, goofy, smart, friendly, etc., but some of the other girls fit a lot of those characteristics as well.. The closest thing that makes sense...to me at least...is that she has a sweetness/softness about her that the other women, no matter how nice, lack.
