It seems that they're "flexible" on what they tell such as who is going to be the lead or perhaps who they tell things to when casting - depending on their potential plans for a contestant candidate. One of the guys that went through the process for the upcoming Bachelorette that I posted about upthread, Jake, also from Tx, posted on Twitter that he wasn't told who was going to be the Bachelorette. Based on Tweets to friends though, it appeared he believed it was going to be Lindsay based on RS and other gossip sites.

I am not sure if he was cast or not. He hasn't mentioned it in a while but did have a recent cryptic tweet about a big decision to be made.

I wonder if Ben above is considered a big catch for them - otherwise, couldn't he get cut for blabbing?

I saw a report--it was from an Asian reporter (he was in the pictures he posted) who was present at the special bachelor mansion reception with Sean, trista, Emily, etc-- and the reporter said Fleiss told him straight up that he had found his new bachelorette from Sean's season. So all this tweeting about help us pick is total bs. Fleiss knew that night already and had already chosen her.

Thanks for the link. For me, it's difficult to discern if Fleiss meant that he had already identified, if not signed, the next one or that he knew he would follow his m.o. of the last several seasons and recycle from the previous season.

The thing with MF is he has a story to validate himself regardless.
Remember last summer when he ran a poll asking the public to vote on who the next TB should be?
Filming is sched per the norm for sometime within the next 30 days.
So MF is like little Jack Horner regarding this show: he put in his thumb and pulled out a plum, but who the heck knows where that thumb has been.

Although for the current season, RS said it was Roberto and Ari suggesting it was his to decline, I read or watched something else that implied it was Sean all along and the rest floated as smokescreen. For various reasons, I tend to believe the latter.

Nonetheless, my hunch is that for practical reasons, the selection process remains somewhat fluid until shortly before filming, with a first choice and the stringing along of a couple of back ups.

The two on the left are Longhorn Football Players Chet Moss and Joe Bergeron. I looked on last year's roster and saw no Ben. I also didn't see him amongst their managers or trainers. He is either a student well-connected to football players or he is in their support staff somewhere. BTW several UT Football players are major fans of this show including Case McCoy, Jordan Hicks and others. I wonder if one of them entered Ben into the show for him. Curious. I will keep sleuthing to see if I can see who "Ben" is.

I would say that Ben looks about a good 5 years too young for AshLee (JMO), (Maybe Ben is Joe's brother?- a little resemblance around the eyes).

He could be Chet's brother but I don't think so. I tweeted at Chet (whom I have talked with on twitter before) to see if he will give us more details on Ben. I advised him that we wanted to root for him but needed to know more about him. Hope it works.
