I think there have been several male leads and even more contestants who were sincere about the process and really wanted to find the "one". Jason, Brad 2, even Ben fell deeply in love and it lasted for a year.
I actually think Sean is one of the least likely to find a wife because let's face it...there's a reason he hasn't dated in 2 years. And it's not because he can't wait to settle down. I have no clue why he hasn't dated but clearly getting married and starting a family are not priorities for him or he would have been out in the dating world the last few years (and Emily doesn't count as he was apathetic towards her). It's not like he was in law school or med school and had no time. To me his recent past behavior is a huge red flag indicating he is not really interested and makes it difficult (for me) to take his season seriously.
Thanks!
I got to agree. There are so many reputable ways to meet the opposite sex--church, synagogue, etc single groups, there are even online sites that are reputable.
This show is the least---of any normal, reputable ways, but it's a great way to have fun or be thrown under the bus---and hey, even a broke clock is right twice a day.
It's probably a good thing to go into the experience whether cast or tv viewer to let loose and have fun. If the "fairytale" happens--it happens, but remember usually fairytales are written by Grimm.

I totally get everyone's doubts about this process and I don't wish to debate religion but I do think it is a driving force for Sean. In many of his post-Bachelorette interviews, particularly, with faith based organizations, he has stated that he receives his direction in life from his faith and sees many things as God's will at work. He has said repeatedly that it was his intention to ask Emily to marry him but believes God ultimately had another plan for him which is why I believe that he moved on from her somewhat easily once back in the real world. He talked about journaling throughout the show about her and his future with her, etc. I think he took the process much more seriously than most.
As for the dating issue, he has said that he didn't want to make the same mistakes as he made in his previous long term relationship and stepped back from dating for a while to figure things out. I don't really see why that is a bad thing - it's not like he was out horn dogging around with every gal in sight.
Based on his family background, I do think expectations are pretty high with regard to finding the right partner for life.

I get that with religion and admire it as many do.
That is why there are so many reputable single groups religious based sprouting up. There are even online dating religious sites. That process works--my daughter and son-in-law and niece and nephew-in-law are proof of that as well as many, many more incidences I am personally aware.
This venue--TB--not so much. If anything, the cast has to be diversified which right there diminished the prospective pool.

I can't speak for Sean Lowe, as to why he has not dated much within the last 2 years, but I have a 35-year-old son who was not a "serial dater", and he is happily married for 7 years now and has two beautiful little boys. And he is extremely happy I might add.
My son, who is also named Sean, did not meet his wife online, through friends, or at a chuch....but it was at work. He probably had not been out on a "real" date in a couple of years himself, but he did hang out with a group of friends that included women, and he developed some good female friends. He even casually dated one or two of those female friends, but it never became serious. He used to tell me that he didn't want to lead anyone on and ultimately have to hurt them. But he eventually fell in love and was 100% sure that she was the one.
Bottom line, we all don't approach dating in the same way. Yes, it is true that looking for a wife on the Bachelor show is a risky adventure, so all I can hope for is the best outcome for all the participants, especially Sean Lowe.

I guess I am also puzzled as to why a truly religious person would go on a show that basically brags about the fact it's sacreligious to the extreme? Sorry, I don't buy it. They need to start a "Bachelor: the Fundamentalist" show and keep the religion off my screen. Take it to the Family Channel. I watch this show for it's pure outrageous entertainment value, not to get lessons in morality. I can just see Sean now, after diddling his way thru the cast, saying "But the devil made me do it." Now that would be some good TV.

Why doesn't he just get back with Emily if she is single now (?) Hmmm wonder if she and Jef are over that she thinks about Arie/Sean. As twisted as it is those are her "ex" boyfriends. Totally scratching my head....maybe he will find love but with his high standards the girl is going to haaave to be amazing. Seriously I am going to need an ATFR wedding to have faith in this process. I invested so much into Emily's season and now for what? Good luck Uncle Seanie I hope you find real love!!

The bottom line is every single person who gets cast on this show is attractive enough to find someone on their own. They might be crazy, manipulative, fame-hungry, etc. - but at the end of the day, if you want a relationship and you're attractive enough, you can get it. People go on the show MAINLY for other reasons - fame, money, opportunities, adventure, ....and at the END of that list, is the maybe chance that they can meet their soulmate. It's never the #1 reason.
I don't think that Sean's relationship will last. Not because he isn't serious about the show, but because the way the show is structured. You are basically asked to announce to the world your commitment to someone you have been on a handful of dates and have known for less than two months. Then, the tabloids and internet fans follow and analyze your every move. Past contestants, like Jillian, have basically admitted that these are the reasons their relationships haven't worked.

I found a little tidbit that might prove to be something for the filming this season. It looks like they might be headed to the US Virgin Islands. I emailed Steve Bornn and asked about it and he emailed right back asking where I got the information. I sent him the link and he emailed back that he couldn't confirm that for me. I take that to mean that he didn't want to say they weren't coming and he wasn't allowed to say they were. Looks like it could be a good destination for the LCD and FD. There is a pretty good size Westin on St. John that might fit the bill. Maybe someone can find out even more. Here is the link.

Sean is too pretty to be on the Bachelor...a guy like him would have found a girl if he wanted one......and why is one of the other bachelors tweeting that he misses Sean so much??
Weird or what?

Great find..oh..so excited for this one as St. John is my favorite Caribbean island. Caneel Bay Resort is also fabulous with some secluded beaches so I could see them possibly going there as they could film discreetly. So many fun hangouts in Cruz Bay. There would be many lovely location shots such as in Trunk Bay and spots in VI National Park. Hope they visit Uncle Joe's Barbeque. BVI is just a lovely boat ride away, too.
