You all have no idea how much I did not want him to do it, but it is his life and his choice, and I would stand by it.
He truly is the one man that stood up to he producers and said "No, I do not have to propose or pick anyone" and he was hated his first season. With more time, plus information dispersed of the manipulations and such, he was seen as doing the right thing for the most part. Then his second season he picked the woman that RS said was not F1  , and heck broke lose again.
That being said, does anyone remember how many times I told posters that we must give him a chance, that we should not assume anything about him, that I did not like what was posted about him, that I criticized others' posts about him pre-season, during airing, and post-season for both shows?
Zero.
I didn't realize they tried to get Brad for Jake's season.

I hope they don't force him to do the producer prompted garbage they made him do on B'ette ... he looked so uncomfortable doing them ... running through the streets yelling her name, that speech to the gathering of people in the streets about love, etc. TPTB are not nice, they will do whatever they deem necessary to get the drama, cause drama sells.
You will get no argument from me about what lengths TPTB will go to, to get their show. Unfortunately most male leads get thrown under the bus one way or another.

Too true ... same goes for the F1's. The tide turned with DeAnna, we were all perplexed because she wasn't getting an F1 edit, which before DeAnna, the F1's edit was clean, nothing negative. When DeAnna claimed that women were bitches, the boards said no way was she F1. And she wasn't, but the edits for the F1 changed after that.

It's too early for me to conclude that Sean will be another Jake; one major difference is that so far at least, we have no indication that Sean is looking to parlay this opportunity into an acting career, do we? Jake struck me as fake and weird from the second episode of Jill's season on; I don't get that vibe from Sean at all. But as always, it remains to be seen.
I personally try not to pigeon-hole contestants into a certain preconceived edit before we actually see what the producers have chosen to do with them, as it may then bias me, and cause me to spend the whole show looking for justifications for the comparison, rather than see things more objectively. YMMV.

And this, is only one of the many reasons you are a truly respected poster.

GOOD POST!!! I do not think that Sean has any desire to parlay his stint on the Bachelor into an acting career or a move to LA to extend his "15 minutes of fame". And I agree with what you said about Jake. I truly believe what Wes said about Jake, and that was that Jake TOLD HIM that he went on the Bachelorette for the sole purpose of winning the role of the next Bachelor. I also 100% agree with you that Jake was fake and weird, and as far as I am concerned, he still is.
As with every season of TB, there are going to be those here who have decided that they just don't like the guy, and there is nothing that will ever change their minds. So, Ironcat, I appreciate your approach to the season. Sean will not be everyone's cup of tea, but hopefully most posters here will just wait and see how well he can handle the "machine".
I worry what Fleiss has up his sleeve for Sean's season too, but I just have to trust that Sean is fully aware of what he has signed on for. I would have preferred that he not put himself through all this, but since he has decided to, then I will fully support him and wish him the best outcome possible. With the track record TB has, the odds are against him finding his wife here. That is another reason that I did not want him to do the show.

Everyone has opinions, some agree and some don't agree with them. It's all good!
I for one can't wait for the season. And for a BIG fan of this show like me, it would be that way no matter who they chose as the next bachelor.

Hey y'all! Just wanted to extend an offer to the best sleuths I know - I got 4 tix for this season's Bachelor tapings. 2 for the women tell all and 2 for the finale taping. All you have to do is donate $20 or $20+ to this page [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to enter into a random drawing for the tix. Hopefully I will see some of y'all at the NYC events! More details can be found here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

BG,
Bravo!
Not only are you a great sleuther, but you are a genuinely kind and decent human being! A class act all the way! Thank you so much for saying this! Coming from a person who actually knew one of the leads and yet didn't feel the need to attack or criticize anyone who didn't like him or how he acted or what he said or did, it means a lot!
This is the way it should be! No matter who someone likes, who is anyone's favorite, everyone here should have the right to express their honest opinion. That's what a forum is all about!
I hope that we can come here and have our say without fear of retribution!

lavenderred wrote:IMO Sean is Jake 2. And Fleiss likes to use the same script twice. So I don't think there's anything to do other than snark this season.
I disagree. There were so many warning signs that something was "off" with Jake before his season ever aired .... SO many.
With Sean there has been nothing. No one says anything bad about him, nothing truly odd is reported, etc.
Doesn't mean he might not end up being boring, nor that he couldn't end up falling for the wrong woman, but he isn't fake like Jake, and that should make a big difference.
Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?
