The Bachelor 17 - Speculation/Spoilers - Discussion

hmmm...Sean's not listed in the group mentioend by Ashley S. on who will be at the lemonade stand. We know he had committed to going a while back, wonder if he backed out since according to RS, he's already in LA, or if he'll be a surprise visitor? Oh, and anyone wanting to go to the finale, read Ashley's blog, it is for a great cause!

So RS is still insisting that tptb turned Arie down??

That's just his long standing jealously talking.... not a snowball's chance in he!! did Fleiss turn Arie down so that Sean could be the Bach! Arie is the whole package... looks, famous racecar driver, he had the support of many celebrities, he had some money, great back story with Emily breaking his heart.... and he's stupid hot!! What's Sean got to offer in comparison? Good looking, nice body and an average career. I can see them choosing Sean over Roberto... but definitely not over Arie. I chuckle even thinking about it

I don't know if this is the place to post this, but did anyone see RS's latest tweet about having information about Arie and Jef? Any idea what that is about?

And, for the record (I'm the biggest Arie fan), I do think that TPTB chose Sean over Arie. I don't get it and we'll never know for sure, but everything that I saw Arie and his family saw in the last few weeks suggested that he wanted the gig and was led to believe he had it. I think, for whatever reason, TPTB knew a while back that Arie was not their guy, which is why RS was SO freaking confident that it wasn't him. And, Sean technically has more Twitter followers (or had, idk right now), and is a more safe choice (aka Jake).

I don't agree but it doesn't really matter plus we'll probably never know for sure. RS has a bee in his butt about Arie for some reason but I don't think he had any real knowledge about who they wanted. He was "1000 %" sure it was Roberto until he wasn't. I believe Roberto was the first choice but said no and they played around with the idea of Sean around the time of the MTA just like they did Ames last year. I don't think they knew if Arie would consider doing the show at that time. After the ATFR it appeared that Arie was the favorite and Sean was on the backburner. Arie seemed to want the gig until recently but I think it was those he was working with that didn't want him to do it and therefore the announcement. That left Sean and although technically the last choice I think they'll be happy enough with him.

I agree with you Albean. If Sean was "the guy" he'd have been announced awhile back, as there was nothing going on in his life to prevent an announcement. Filming has started and MF still hasn't given the "fans" an announcement, even after continually apologizing for taking so long. And yes, they'll be happy with Sean, as long as he plays nicely in the sandbox with MF.

I'm glad Arie isn't going to be the victim. I do however think this is how Uncle Seannie will end up

Yup. I think they have every reason to believe that Sean will play nicely with MF. I would someday love to know more about SEan's tweet , after that earlier LA visit, where he said the bit about gaining the whole world, but losing your soul. I imagine he thinks he wont compromise his very high principles. I honestly dont know how he'll manage that.

Reading not only this board I've read the abc boards...Can all of us just hold back our assumptions and opinions to ourselves until we get a few episodes in I mean come on it's only September after all...filming is just beginning...only some of it...it really starts Monday night...so let's take a chill pill and relax and wish Sean the best of luck shall we?!

I'm not sure if this is directed at my post or not. But I really do want to know what Sean meant by his tweet. There was a lot of speculation on the board that it meant that he turned them down, because of his principles. Hence the "lose your soul." I could look it up, but I think many folks here remember that he tweeted while in LA or just after leaving LA. I think it's entirely appropriate to speculate about that point. Sean himself brought it up, quite publicly. I'm not fabricating some assumption. He has very high principles and is a very religious man. He has been very public about that. I'm not making assumptions about that. We know, for a fact how MF operates. No assumption there. So, with all due respect, it makes quite a bit of sense at the outset of filming, to pose the question : how earth is Sean going to navigate this show? I have no idea how he thinks he is going to do it. They wouldnt exactly have signed a contract to change the premise of the show or how they create their show.
Ideas anyone?

It wasn't directed at any one person..just what I was thinking...carry on. Oh and I saw it for myself when he tweeted it that day...and i looked it up again myself! :) I wasn't doubting he said that...
