Happy she made it another week!

Kelli - I thought I heard her semi-whisper to Tony that she didn't want to do hip hop. That's why they gave that to Apolo & Karina. Jitterbug is similar to Lindy Hop, though, so it should be a great dance for them!

This made me chuckle because Hip Hop was the one Melissa didn't want, and Contemporary was one I didn't want her to get! I was thinking it would be really entertaining to see her and Tony do Bollywood, but when I mentioned that to another fan, it turns out that person hates Bollywood and had been praying Melissa wouldn't get that one. :laughingoutlou

Contemporary just seems like one of the riskiest ones where the end result could turn out really well or really badly- plus I am not sure how well versed Tony is in it although I bet he could come up with some great lifts. And I just don't know if it's the type of dance style that has a lot of appeal with the general DWTS audience. Personally I think it looks weird and random, and I don't always "get" what I'm supposed to be watching. giggling

SYTYCD audiences seem to like it because it's featured on that show a lot, but those dancers have been trained in it for years and seeing a watered down DWTS version of it might not come across as well. So that was my concern about that dance. Val seemed excited to get it so maybe he and Kelly will do well with that one, we'll see.

Melissa can nail a dance like the Jitterbug, but my concern with this one is if it isn't different enough and won't feel fresh enough. She's done Lindy Hop on her original season which is similar, and just did the high energy Jive 2 weeks ago. So I hope Tony can be creative enough with the Jitterbug to make viewers see something new and not feel like they are watching the same ol same ol.

I'm really glad Melissa didn't get Bolero either because that's like Rumba but even slower so it has the potential to put audiences to sleep.

Yay, another voter. I think we need all we can get from now on. Since Melissa and Emmitt are both back in Dallas I wonder if they are filming hometown segments for the show.

I wonder if Melissa will be doing anymore hosting for TV Guide Channel. I really enjoyed her Twilight special.
