I'm a great believer in not sweating the small stuff, and in the grand scheme of things, Jef flashing the peace sign in a lot of pictures is really small stuff. Now if he was flipping the bird in them I might take offense. Gene Simmons sticking out his tongue used to tick me off, but now he's just an ugly old man! deadhorse

So what does it mean? Not Peace .... I have seen athletes do it also and they dont mean "peace." "Hi" "I'm kool." "what's up?" "Hows it hanging?" "Dude."

What do you mean? Now I have seen pics of horn dogs on FB doing a V with their tongue going through it but that is altogether different than a peace sign...the other is about a piece of a different kind :hidingchair rofl

I have no idea what it means to Jef and his buds. Anyone... I really wasn't sure what "hipster" means, so I looked on urban dictionary. Wow! Pages and pages of definitions. The one that this old lady could identify with compares a hipster to a beatnik.

I cannot cure my 11 year old of throwing that "gang sign" --as his big brother mocks it-- in every dang picture. I've come to love it in my precious Tweenie. I think it's a bit silly for someone over 25, who is not actually in the process of filming or performing a hip hop song. It's basically a way of showing how cocky you are while saying "peace out". And no, I'm not going there.

Unfortunately, I think Jef & his buds get it from Miley Cyrus, who co-opted the 60s to resurrect this as the new symbol of photo-cool. I wouldn't mind if Jef were copying his cool from someone a little older than the Radio Disney set. But in his defense there aren't a lot of other options out there right now.
