I just wanted to give everyone a heads about something that was brought to my attention recently.

If you move a saved private message onto your profile everyone will be able to view your private messages exchanged with other members at this site.

To change your settings follow these steps:

These private messages show up on your Visitor Messages page located in your profile.

You can change these settings by going to your Profile and clicking on the Preferences tab:

Select the option that bests suites you:

Allow visitor messages on my profile :

All members

My friends

Nobody

Hide this tab

So either you can leave those messages for everyone to see, make it so only your "friends" can view those messages, select hide that tab, or select don't allow anyone to view the messages you moved onto your profile page.

I hope this helps! :WAVEY:

Also, remember that you can always leave saved messages in your saved section if you don't want to delete those.

I may be the only one that feels this way, but I always look for the red button to tell me there are new posts. But I frequently don't read the "no discussion" threads, and sometimes, the red button is there only because of those threads, and I end up checking & rechecking. I sort of wish the "no discussion" threads were separate. I know it would probably be making too many sections, but just a thought. Any one else crazy like me?? duh

I don't often look at the no-discussion threads either - but there's a little "make all forums in this section read" button on the top right that you can click to remove those red buttons without clicking into the thread  There'd probably be too many sections otherwise, you're right  IMO it's good to have the relevant no-discussions close by for easy access later in the season though!

Now that you mention it, I kind of agree. It doesn't bother me that those "no discussion" threads are there, but I do think it would be convenient to have all of those threads in one place. Just so the collection of information is all in one place instead of in 6 or 7 different places.

I know this is the way it's been for quite some time, so it might be weird or not even possible, but I still think it would be a good idea.

Well, THAT solves my problem....THANKS!!! Glad I said something.

I'd thought I'd mention the way I've found to read the forum with very little fuss. When I sign in I click on view posts since last visit. It lists the threads with new posts and then you can click on only the threads you want to read.

Has anyone been signed into the site and and then left for about an hour without logging off. Then when you come back to continue reading the new posts you had not read yet it shows you read those even though you know you hadn't? scratch

I don't think signing out would help either. It would still think you had read everything as of the sign out time. :Frown:
I just leave it open so I at least know what threads I'm supposed to be reading and then scroll back through the posts until I find where I left off.
